Peaceful rural studio

Enjoy the peace and quiet of rural living. This sunny, spacious, wheelchair-friendly studio suite is situated on a developing nut orchard, 15 minutes west of Whakatane. Attached to the main house, but with it's own access, it includes a king-size bed, private bathroom and well-equipped kitchenette. Guests are welcome to wander the property at their leisure, gather fruit from the orchard in season, and make use of the main deck and barbecue facilities. The studio includes spaces for sleeping, relaxing and dining. It is ideal for single travellers or couples but there is a pull-out couch that will accommodate a child is required. There is a tiled ensuite with walk-in shower, plenty of storage and a kitchenette. There are no cooking facilities but the room is equipped with microwave, mini-fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities, cutlery and crockery. Tea/coffee (including plunger)/sugar/milk are provided. For longer stays, full kitchen and laundry facilities are available. In the bathroom, towels, toiletries and a hairdryer are provided for guest use. The studio is attached to the main house by a lockable sliding door but has it's own external ranchslider entry for guests. There is unlimited wifi (not fibre) and a television for streaming of Netflix/Freeview on Demand. Thornton Beach is 5 minutes drive for swimming or surfcasting, Whakatane is 15 minutes, Edgecumbe 8 minutes and Matata 5 minutes. Tauranga is 45 minutes west. Well-behaved and socialised dogs are welcome by arrangement but there are already other dogs and cats on site. We do not charge a cleaning fee; the expectation is that you will leave the room as you found it. There is plenty of guest parking including room for boats or caravans.
