This cosy hut now boasts a copper shower area and separate long-drop self-composting toilet. The bedroom has original rimu panelling that consists of a double bed and bunks. The main living area has a small sofa, sink area with conventional oven and fridge. There is a wood burning stove for cooking on as well as to heat the hut. There is a deck area to sit out in the morning/evening to watch farm working life! The Shearer's Hut is perfect for a cosy, romantic getaway enjoying walks through our beautiful farm with amazing views, woodland garden and history. Exclusive access to our bush walk in 100 acres of native bush or enjoy a picnic by our river listening to the bell birds. The Shearer's Hut provides a great base for skiing at Mt Hutt (50mins), restaurants and pubs Methven (20mins), Christchurch (50 mins), fishing at Lake Coleridge (20mins) and golf at Glentunnel (20 mins). We are situated next to the Washpen Falls Walkway. Can phone Homestead...reception a bit patchy. Someone is usually around the working yards 25 mins between Darfield and the Shearer’s Hut and 25 mins between Methven and the Shearer’s Hut.
