When the owners began the works of restoration, transforming the “old” house into a modern and functional place, they gave prominence to an arch with a considerable size, from the Gothic period, one of the most important in Santarém a city known as “Capital of the Gothic style”. Further ahead, where the old Castle existed there’s the famous “Garden Portas do Sol” a belvedere from where you can enjoy a fantastic view to the plain of Ribatejo region and to the River Tagus. Not far from “The House of the Arch” are situated two religious monuments that our guest must not miss a visit: Graça Church, an important example of the Gothic art and also Marvila Church with a magnificent interior covered with tiles and considered to be the “Tile’s Cathedral”.
