Our property is situated on a new housing estate, a short walk from Malton town centre. It is a modern, bright and airy space with a generous lawned back garden and patio area. Malton is a vibrant market town with cafés, pubs, restaurants, shops selling antiques & collectibles, local produce and souvenirs, and artisan crafts. Within a short distance there are some popular local attractions including stately homes and castles, and outdoor activities (theme parks, golf, open-water swimming). This modern house is a home from home. It has an openplan kitchen-diner, a downstairs cloakroom, and a sitting room which has patio doors leading out to an enclosed, lawned garden. Upstairs you’ll find a family bathroom and two double bedrooms, one ensuite. At mealtimes you will find a good selection of kitchen items; pots, pans and serving dishes for 6 place settings. There is a fridge-freezer, a microwave and a full size dishwasher. Linen is provided (bedding and towels, including teatowels) and there is a washing machine should you need one during your stay. We also provide basic items such as coffee, tea, sugar and hand soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. There are also plenty of games, books and DVDs available to entertain you on an evening or a rainy afternoon. You will have full use of the house, the drive and the garden. We are just next door if you need help! We live adjacent to the property and can also be contacted by phone or messaged through AirBnB. This property is set in a modern estate with all the amenities you would expect from a residential area. There are local play parks and public transport links within walking distance. Malton town centre is a short walk away and there are local countryside walks within a few minutes from the house in several directions. These are a variety of public footpaths, cycle tracks and bridleways, through a patchwork of fields and lightly wooded areas. To the side of the house is a private driveway with parking for two cars, access to the garden and an electric point should you need to charge your car. While a car is probably the best option you can still use this location as a base if you don't have a car, and there are plenty of places to access on foot, by bicycle or by using local transport. Local buses and the Coastliner service, taxis and trains* (the York to Scarborough line) provide access to the wider countryside, stately homes and tourist attractions (like Castle Howard, Eden Camp, Flamingo Land, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Pickering Castle), and cities like York and Scarborough. *It takes less than 3 hours to travel to/from London, we're 30 mins from York and about 1 hour from Leeds. There are a network of cycle tracks across the Vale of Pickering and Malton itself is very bicycle friendly, although not totally flat. Cropton and Dalby Forests are firm favourites with ramblers and mountain bike enthusiasts. Items for babies, such as a cot and high chair are provided, if you have specific needs please let us know what they are so we can arrange for additional items to be available.
