Beautiful self contained Barn Flat in West Dorset

The Barn Flat is situated on a small farm with stunning views over the Dorset countryside. We have great access to local towns, beautiful walks and of course the Wessex coastline. Mainline stations nearby going to Exeter, London, Bath, Bristol and Weymouth. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful bit of Dorset and ensuring your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Nearby Sherborne offers you great shops, the Abbey, 2 castles and many cafes & restaurants. Come & rest or explore! The Barn Flat is self contained but next to the main house so we are nearby if needed. Built only a few years ago and decorated to a very high standard, it makes the most of our wonderful, rural setting. Although we are only 10 minutes from Sherborne we are in the middle of beautiful farming and rural Dorset. We are surrounded by fields and farmland and can provide maps or guidance for exploring. You will have designated parking next to the flat and your own access to this self contained accommodation. The flat is stylishly and comfortably furnished with a kitchenette/diner/sitting room, twin bedroom and spacious bathroom. Each room boasts fabulous views for you to enjoy, particularly some very spoiling sunsets (although we cannot accept responsibility for the weather!). We live next to the flat and your host, Alice, works from home so will always be there to meet you and show you where everything is. She will be pleased to help you with any plans for your stay to ensure you get the most of your time in Dorset. Our house used to be a small farm and whilst we do not farm now, we are surrounded by two working, dairy farms. The views from the flat reach over the famous Blackmore Vale to Batcombe Hill and beyond. This is great country for walking and cycling. Please ask for details when you book. There is off road parking here with a dedicated area for our guests. Additionally we are 10 minutes from Sherborne which has a main line station (Waterloo line) from which you can get a taxi. We are also under 10 minutes from Thornford which is on the Bristol/Weymouth line. We do have horses, dogs, a cat, chickens, ducks, sheep and 3 sons. Please warn us in advance of any allergies! Access to the flat is up a reasonably steep staircase. There is a strong handrail but we regret there is no lift or wheelchair access. Pre-ordering food: If you are keen to have a break from food, there are several good pubs in the area and details of these can be found in the flat or requested from Alice before your visit. Alternatively, why not book some fabulous ready-prepared suppers, delivered frozen to the Barn Flat? Please contact Alice to arrange a delivery from Cook Frozen Food. I am very happy to take delivery of this before you arrive and store in the freezer below the flat.
