1 Friary Cottages is a spacious and attractive sandstone end-cottage set in the historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, close to the River Eden, with off-road parking for 3 cars. With 3 bedrooms accommodating up to 5 adults (2 double beds, 1 single bed, 1 cot), this is an ideal cottage for families or groups of friends. The cottage is ideally located for exploring this quiet and idyllic part of Cumbria and is a short distance from both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. Spacious, fully equipped cottage on the doorstep of the Lakes and Dales. The cottage sleeps up to 5 adults in two double rooms and one single room, with two full size bathrooms. The single room also has a cot suitable for a small child. It offers a spacious sitting room, a dining room and a modern fully equipped kitchen. There is a small enclosed patio for outdoor eating. The living spaces are warm and comfortable with every amenity provided. The house is kept immaculately, and is cleaned throughout, and linen freshly provided for every visit. The cottage is self check-in, but should you get stuck we always respond to calls and messages and we have a very friendly housekeeper on hand locally who looks after cleaning and organising any other help you may need. There is off-road parking for up to 3 cars. The charming town of Appleby has many excellent shops and eateries to enjoy, and a riverside walk on a fine day is a lovely way to enjoy this pretty area. The train station is just a few minutes’ walk and and is a stop on the historic Settle-Carlisle line, crossing some of the most magnificent scenery in England and with steam trains that often pass. There is lots to see within a short walk around the town, but a car is recommended to reach the Lakes and Dales. However there are plenty of walks and hikes straight from the doorstep too. Quiet rural community, in a traditional market town. There is a train station a short walk away. Lots to see in walking distance around the town but a car is recommended to reach the Lakes and Dales, however there are plenty of walks straight from the doorstep too. Please note that there is a large discount for booking 1 Friary Cottages for 7 nights or more. It can often be cheaper to book a 7 night stay than it is to book 5 or 6 nights.
