Hayloft cottage was originally part of an old threshing barn and has been beautifully converted into a rural retreat. The cottage is surrounded by 80 acres of private land, much of which has been left to nature for the past 20 years to become a haven for a large variety of wildlife and rare birds with nature walks through an untouched valley of streams, woods and pasture for our guests to enjoy. The Cottage is entered through oak stable doors into beamed dining room leading to the kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven and fridge/freezer. Downstairs main bathroom and separate shower room lead off small inner hall with airing/drying cupboard. Upstairs to a comfortable and cosy sitting room with old oak trusses, pine floor, digital T.V. and DVD. French windows open onto private natural stone terrace with views to Dartmoor, garden furniture and barbecue. Galleried landing to three bedrooms, one of which is the master double with French windows and juliet balcony - the other two having twin beds, exposed beams and velux roof windows. Hayloft Cottage is situated in the heart of the South Hams golden triangle between moor and shore, noted for it’s beautiful rolling landscapes, quintessential holiday towns and scenic beaches. Totnes is the closest town at 5 miles, offering a renowned independent high street of wonderful local food shops, cafes and restaurants and an eclectic mix of original shops. Dartmouth lies 10 miles to the East and is situated on the West bank of the picturesque river Dart. This harbour town offers sea food fine dining of Mitch Tonks Sea Horse and The Angle and many other refined dining restaurants including the outstanding Rock Fish restaurant and takeaway. Boat trips are available from the harbour sailing up river Dart to Totnes taking you on a scenic journey through some of the finest parts of the South Hams. Sea Kayaking either up river or out to sea along the coast are also on offer. The estuary town of Kingsbridge is 8 miles South and is a great dining stop off when heading back from a day at the beach, offering the best tapas and Indian restaurant eateries in the area. The popular resort town of Salcombe lies 14 miles to the South on the mouth of the Kingsbridge estuary and is one of the prettiest towns in South Devon. Its estuary location and beautiful sandy beaches make Salcombe a centre for water sports and sailing.
