The Bakehouse

The Bakehouse is a friendly & colourful place to stay, a welcoming & relaxed base for a well-earned break. It provides totally self-contained loft-style accommodation, perfect for a socially distanced stay, with kitchen/dining & shower room downstairs, bedroom/living upstairs. It is ideally located to explore Cornwall, within hiking distance of the Eden Project and short drives from Charlestown or Heligan. Set in an acre and half of smallholding & wilderness, guests are free to wander.... Converted from our former bakehouse, and still sporting a semi-commercial kitchen, there’s space to relax, wind down & maybe even do some baking - it’s all there for you.... Parking space directly alongside. There is also a 13A outdoor socket for guests to use for vehicle charging etc. We’re available next door much of the time, always happy to help..... However, there is contactless check-in and we maintain social distancing at all times. Penwithick has an excellent local shop & post office, a fish & chip shop and a social club. The clay trails are nearby, making it possible to walk off road to The Eden Project or Wheal Martyn or even into St Austell. There is an hourly bus service into St Austell town centre and the main line train station. The area is well served for walking routes and bike trails and has good local taxi services, one with 100% electric cars. Guests are welcome to arrive by car, motorbike, bike or on foot. There is plenty of parking space outside the property. We have adopted an enhanced Covid-19 cleaning regime and do a deep clean with complete sanitising between guests.
