The Real Shepherds Hut with flock of Dorset sheep

Roll back to 1890 when this shepherd hut was made, imagine it being towed into the field by a horse for the shepherds’ base while the sheep lambed. The simple wooden and corrugated tin hut sheltering the busy shepherd from the elements. The gorgeous smell of woodsmoke from the little stove constantly going, originally not only for his food and hot drinks but to keep the odd orphan lamb warm. Comes with one luxury unknown back then, a portaloo, basin and solar shower at your disposal! You too can be a shepherd, without the orphan lamb but perhaps a companion! Set amongst the sheep, with their bleating for company you get to live like the shepherd did. In a lush green field with hedges brimming with wildlife your hut also has a tarpaulin for shelter from the sun or rain and a fire pit to chill by. Bring everything you may need, but make it simple, you will walk in, walk out and enjoy being at one with nature. (There is a good pub 1 mile away if required!) This is not a prissy, done up Bo Peep hut and there is no electricity or WiFi ! It is however unique and gorgeous with comfortable clean linen and a cool box, what more could one want? walks around their field and down the avenue and lane to the pub and village shop We are usually on the farm so please phone if any problem. We are situated in the middle of a lovely tract of countryside, please keep gates shut and respect the neigbours privacy keeping to footpaths and access only. bus from Chippenham to the village The sheep are friendly so we would suggest not leaving anything lying around in case they make off with them!
