Archanes Residence

Archanes Residence is a stonemade house built at one of the most beautiful villages in Crete, the village of Archanes. It is consisted of a living room with a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a WC as well as a spacious bedroom with a modern bathroom. There is a beautiful front yard where our guests can enjoy their drinks or meals at the seating arrangements that are surrounded with seasonal trees and flowers. Archanes is situated in a marvelous rural landscape, with vineyards covering the sides of the valley all the way to the village. In the centre of the village and in walking distance our guests can find the main square with a variety of cafeterias, taverns/restaurants, shops, markets etc. Just 9 kilometres from the village, our guests can visit Knossos, the largest and most brilliant centre of the Minoan civilisation. "Nikos Kazantzakis" International Airport is 15 kilometres away and the closest beaches are approximately 12 kilometres away. In simple words, our house is situated in the heart of the Prefecture of Heraklion that a visitor will have the chance to see and get to know the real life of a truly beautiful traditional Cretan village while at the same time the lively city centre of Heraklion is just 15-20 minutes drive. All rooms are available for use. As much as they want and require. We will be next to them for any assistance they need at any time they need. Very close from our property there is also the archaeological site of an ancient Minoan Settlement. The discovery of ancient roads leading from Archanes to Juktas, Anemospilia, Xeri Kara, and Vathypetro indicate that the village was an important hub in the region during Minoan times. Those evidences indicate that ancient Archanes spread out over the same area as the modern town as it stands nowadays. Archanes is part of the E4 European path and gives the visitor a great opportunity to view and discover Crete from a different point of view. The E4 European Path of Crete is a major European route under the supervision of the European Union’s Mountain Walking (EWV): the Greek section was designed and marked out by the Greek Mountaineering and Climbing Federation. Car rental is recommended but there is also frequent Bus Service. For anything that is needed we will be glad to provide any information around the area as well as providing all the GPS details.
