Relax & unwind in our piece of paradise (Katikati)

A slice of paradise with expansive & stunning views of Matakana Island & Mount Maunganui in front, farmland to the side & the awesome Kaimai range towering behind. At night, it’s all about the stars. With minimum light pollution, the sky comes alive after dark. It’s so peaceful & tranquil here but there’s plenty natural activity with wild birdsong, sheep in the paddock & chickens (no cockerel!) at the back of the property, all watched over by Beatrix the dog (contained) & Tinkerbelle the cat. Set on 2 acres, the gardens are a mix of lawn, flower, vegetable and fruit gardens, as well as paddocks containing 150 young lemon trees and our sheep (all named after singers). The soundtrack to the stunning views is beautiful birdsong. Tuis, Kingfishers, Rosellas, Fantails, Welcome Swallows, Quail, and Moreporks are all regular visitors. The comfortable bed, quality linen and soft blankets should ensure a good night's sleep and the brand-new bathroom has all new modern features such as a large rainfall shower, underfloor heating, and a large backlit anti-mist mirror. Fluffy towels are also provided, warmed by the heated towel rail. A continental breakfast with a choice of cereals, toast and spreads, fruit and yoghurt, as well as a selection of fruit juice, teas, coffee, and hot chocolate is provided in the room alongside a kettle, toaster and fridge for guests’ convenience. There is a TV and DVD player in the room, with a large selection of DVD's to choose from. WIFI is also available, although being rural, this can be a bit unreliable at times. Please also enjoy our extensive collection of books during your stay (within our Covid safety guidelines). For guests with electric vehicles, overnight charging is available upon request (1 x 16A Type 1 EVSE and 1 x 8A Type 2 EVSE). When you enter through our front door, the private, spacious guest accommodation is to the left and the main house is to the right. They are quite separate areas. We have a lockbox by the front door so guests can enter and leave as they wish, quite privately and safely. However we are usually onsite if a personal, socially distanced welcome is preferred and we are available should guests require any assistance or information. Our home is the perfect place to relax, unwind and soak up the views but we are also only 10 minutes’ drive from the heart of Katikati, known for its murals and sculptures, Bird Gardens, Sapphire Springs hot pools and interesting walks. The historic gold mining area of Waihi and the beautiful Waihi Beach are 25 mins drive. Tauranga City and the stunning Karangahake Gorge are both 30 mins drive in either direction. Mount Maunganui with its amazing beaches, boutique shops and vast choice of eateries is 45 mins drive, as is the "world famous in NZ" town of Paeroa with its giant L&P bottle.
