Joiners Cottage, Ashford in the Water, Bakewell
Joiners Cottage is a cosy 300 year old stone built cottage situated a hundred yards away from the River Wye in this delightful village. Joiners Cottage is full of character and has been lovingly renovated to maintain the character but we have added some 21st century luxury including a log burning stove for those cosy nights in! The village has 2 pubs, and the corner shop at the end of Church Street has been in existence for over 100 years and is an outlet for many local needs. An open plan cottage full of character with oak beams, hand-made kitchen, limestone bathroom and a cosy log burning stove We will meet you at the cottage on arrival, show you around, make sure you have all you need and give you the keys then. We are available during your stay should you need any help. Ashford in the Water is a picturesque riverside village that nestles mainly on the east bank of the meandering River Wye as it winds its way slowly south-eastward towards the town of Bakewell, a couple of miles downstream. A holiday or short break will allow you to explore some of England’s most spectacular scenery; fascinating historical and cultural heritage; and in the towns, villages and hamlets – amongst the prettiest in the country – you will find a warm and genuine welcome wherever you go. The rolling hills, vast moorland and gritstone crags of the Peak District make for a dramatic and varied landscape. Not surprisingly it is a Mecca for walkers, climbers and cyclists looking for peace, tranquility and adventure. We have had a number of guests who have stayed at the cottage without a car and got around on public transport happily. However to get to the more remote parts of the Peak District an car - or bicycle for keen cyclists - is recommended
