Bar 7 Bunk House - horse friendly!

Located on a working cattle ranch five miles outside of Meeker, Colorado, the Bar 7 Bunk House is a stand-alone studio offering a fully equipped efficiency kitchen, outdoor grill, one full bathroom, a snack bar, small living room with satellite television, wifi, one double bed and on site laundry facilities. The Bunk House comes stocked with linens and towels. Guests will have access to entire Bunk House. About Meeker: For those seeking easy access to hiking, OHV trails, camping, hunting, fishing, backpacking, horseback riding, snowmobiling and other outdoor recreation, Meeker is a sure thing. Fishing and hunting are also big businesses here. Anglers can take advantage of several public access fishing areas within a couple miles of town, and public lands outside of town offer a variety of fishable waters. A dramatically scenic drive is the Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway; the 82-mile drive starts in Meeker and offers lots of picturesque pull-offs along the journey to Yampa. Meeker is host to a roster of annual festivals, including the Meekerpalooza Arts & Music Festival (June), the Range Call Fourth of July celebration, White River OHV Rendezvous (July) and the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials (September). For a peek into the history of the area, visit The White River Museum, which is housed in the 1880s U.S. Calvary Garrison's officer's quarters. Weather conditions can change quickly in the Rocky Mountains; excessive rain or snow can m ake travel more difficult or hazardous. Much of the area is open rangeland. Keep an eye out for cattle, sheep, or horses that may have wandered into travel corridors. Deer and Elk are abundant in the White River Valley so please consider wildlife when driving, especially on curvy mountain roads.
