Easy to get to, within the National park, the apartment has a wonderfully shaded garden with access to a host of outdoor activities and bespoke experiences based upon local knowledge - from hiking to mountain biking and from twitching to stone carving. Surrounded by trees, our garden feels like an extention of the forest. You will have your own private entrance and garden. The garden has terraces made up of dry stone walls. It is the perfect,environment to sit and have time to reflect. Time seems to stand still in our garden. There are many types of birds and animals that also call our garden their home, including the Petirrojo, who we have named our house after. We are here to help you organise your experiences, which will make your holiday unique, to you. We will provide you with maps and a suggestion of activities that are unique to Cercedilla or the surrounding areas. We can arrange a pick up at the airport if required. We can organise day trips, help you translate or just provide you with ideas and let you get on with it. . There are so many different local experiences that you can participate in. From hiking in the mountains, to ‘walking a dog’ for a gentle stroll in the forest. With our localised knowledge, we can organise: horse riding, sculpture / painting / ceramic lessons and if you feel musical we know guitar and ukulele instructors! At certain times of the year we can take you mushroom foraging in the mountains or blackberry picking to make your own jam. Our space is unique because we live on premises (separate entrance) so we can really make you feel like a local and have local experiences, that you won’t find listed on the web! Less then 10 minutes away there are fresh water swimming pools, being continually filled with water from the mountains. In the winter there are two ski stations where there are a number of ski runs. We are a 5 mins walk to the train station and bus stop, where you can go to Madrid or Segovia. A simple change means that you can get to El Escorial or the oldest walled city in Spain Avila. There is a toy train which can take you to the top of the mountains whether this is to ski or snowboard in Navacerrada or to mountain bike down! The village is a 15 minute walk, where there are many cafes / resaurtants / bars and local markets, to drink and eat Tapas whilst watching the world go by! We speak English and Spanish. We have lived in many different parts of the world but Cercedilla is where we call home, we have never found anywhere nicer. We have three children who grew up in Cercedilla but now are in the UK studying and working. So we have pretty much an all round view and we can pass on that knowledge to make your holiday really special.
