The rooms are splendidly furnished and decorated, with spacious en suite bathrooms, and share a large patio overlooking the Ngong hills. Inviting guests on an exclusive retreat within bustling Nairobi, Casa Ya Ndoto (House of good dreams) is a former boutique hotel in the tranquil suburb of Karen, located on 5 acres of exquisite land with yellow-bark acacias and indigenous trees, a profusion of birdlife, and regular visits by warthogs from the neighboring giraffe center (nothing to worry about, they are used to humans and are not dangerous at all...). It is now the private residence of a family with two young children that live in the main wing of the house. They have a family cat, a lovely Russian Blue who enjoys polite company, and three goofy dogs who live in a large fenced area, and are only allowed near guests if they are comfortable. The house has 2 adjacent guestrooms, the Osiris room and the Anubis room, with a connecting door which is locked when there are separate bookings. Both have spacious en suite bathrooms with shower and bath tub. The quiet Osiris bedroom blends coziness with aesthetic appeal, displaying hardwood floors, high ceilings, handpicked and beautifully crafted furniture, and a piquant and unique selection of artworks. The room features a king-size bed (that can be turned into single beds if needed), a ceiling fan, all-around Mosquito curtains, ample space for clothes (wardrobe, drawers, luggage stands), 100% cotton bed and bath linens, a TV set with Cable TV. The room shares with the other guestroom a large flagstone patio overlooking the Ngong hills, where guests are served a luscious breakfast at the time they like, and where the sunsets offer a daily spectacle. High speed WiFi is available 24/7, and guests are welcome to keep food and beverages in the kitchen of the main house. The accommodation includes daily housekeeping service and nightly turndown by a highly qualified, trustworthy and exceptionally friendly staff. Security guards are on premise 24/7, complemented by patrols in the neighborhood. Casa Ya Ndoto is suitable as a stopover in Nairobi before and after safari trips, or for longer stays in the city. While expected to respect the privacy of the residents, guests are welcome to walk around on the property and enjoy the variety of flora and fauna. The owners both work from home (although far away from the guest rooms), and they are available mostly in the early mornings and evenings, unless they travel. Masha and Charles, the housekeepers, are always available to assist with any requests. The Karen area offers many must-see attractions including the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage, the giraffe centre and the Karen Blixen Museum. The house is also situated at a short driving distance to different shopping malls. 5 of the top 10 Tripadvisor-rated restaurants are within 15 minutes drive. Reliable and trustworthy taxi services, booked in advance or called to arrive within 15 minutes. Uber is also widely available in Nairobi. 40-60 minutes from Jomo Kenyatta Internatonal (depending on traffic) 20-25 minutes from Wilson airport 30-40 minutes from Nairobi CBD (Central Business District) 40-50 minutes from Westlands
