Tranquillity in Souel - 4km from Cordes sur Ciel
A beautiful old converted french cowshed, restored with its original features. La Vieille Grange sits in the quiet French village of Souel about 4km from Cordes sur Ciel. The property can be booked as a three bedroom gite. The property exudes relaxation and peace, with a stunning view and walks in all different directions. Come for the calmness, the quietness, the tranquility, nature and the beauty. And we are dog friendly...! Sometimes we have horses in the field at the bottom of the garden. The accommodation is on the side of my house and is a massive 154sqm with calm spacious interiors. It comprises of a large sitting room/diner combined and newly installed kitchen. It has its own entrance and shared access to the gardens, parking and swimming pool. On the first floor there is a large queen size bedroom with a separate shower room and going through a door and stepping down a level, in a different section but still part of the same gite, there is a bedroom with either two single beds or a kingsize bed with a bathroom and separate toilet. There is also a comfy/quiet/chill area on the mezanine floor, to read or relax. There is a 3rd bedroom with a standard double bed in it. The guests in the gite can access all areas of the property except one area which is the private garden of the owner. The house in the picture is the whole house. The gite is one end and the house of the owner is the other end. They both have seperate entrances and are completely self contained. I am really excited to greet you and tell you more about the surrounding area. The beauty and the history of this area stretches back to the 13th century. There is horseback riding through the vineyards, kayaking in the Aveyron, wine tasting, aperos and a million other things to do in the long summer sunny days. Albi is the nearest major town with its amazing Cathedral, French shops and a Saturday gardener's market. We enjoy the peace and quiet here and hope that you will enjoy it to. Souel is a small French village with 140 residents. The views stretch for miles - so although you have the beautiful setting of a French village you still feel miles away from anything. In August we have a village fete every Saturday night down at the Le Plan D'eau. Dancing, singing and eating the true French way. The beautiful tourist bastide of Cordes sur Ciel is about 4km away and is the hive of activity in the summer. You can grab a coffee and croissant in the early morning at the cafe in the square. Then take a walk to the top of the bastide, savoring a long refreshing drink when you get there and a marvelling at the breathtaking view. You will need a car. We are about an hour from Toulouse airport. There is no public transport. There are lots of good walking routes for doggies and ramblers alike. There are plenty of things for adults and children to do in the summer months. So although we are in the middle of no-where (heaven for the adults) there are activities to exhaust the children during the day in the surrounding areas. If you are coming from the airport it would be a good idea to do a 'shop' in Gaillac. You have to go through Gaillac to get here. I will have a small welcome pack for you. Depending on what day you arrive, there is a Saturday market in Cordes or a Sunday market in St Antonin Noble Val.
