Jakama Lodge is 10 mins to Hobbiton, Karapiro and Cambridge. Private, quiet retreat on a 100 acre farm. Horses, chickens, sheep and a unique rammed earth eco home. 1 hour to Raglan, Rotorua, Waitomo glow worm caves and Tauranga. We welcome couples, families sports teams, groups, and pets. Our home has been built in a unique kiwi/European style that reflects our love of nature and our environment. The rustic, thick, rammed earth walls provide instant relaxation from the moment you walk through the front door into the large family room and see the lake and mountain views. Cool in Summer open fire in winter. Relax by the pool, borrow a kayak, walk across the farm, watch horses being trained or do a day trip to other great destinations. Piano, full sky TV on 2 separate channels. There is plenty of parking for boats or horse floats. We can offer you the whole house, a room, family wing or 4 separate bedrooms and ensuites. Arrangements will be made to suit the needs of our guests. There will always be someone on the farm to assist at all times. Fresh fruit from our trees is available almost all year round. Cambridge-the town of trees and champions- and Karapiro are well known for the excellent sporting venues that have been built including the new velodrome, equestrian and racing facilities. World class rowing, water skiing, boat racing and waka ama championships are held on Lake Karapiro throughout the year. Jakama Lodge is withing 10 minutes of all this yet is a quiet and private haven. Guests will need their own transport though we may be able to collect you from the airport or Cambridge by arrangement. Jakama Lodge is 10km South of Cambridge Small children will need to be well supervised as there are steep banks to the lake and farm animals nearby. However. children love the freedom and space to run around and interact with the environment. Farm walks and viewing the training of horses will need to be arranged prior to ensure the safety of all concerned.
