The Gap Tropical Retreat is the place you want to base yourself during your visit to Brisbane A minimalist setup with the essentials featuring a french door that connects the living/kitchen area onto the patio & into the backyard, with a relaxed open plan Located in close proximity to the Enoggera Reservoir Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre & Restaurant, there are walking trails accessible from our street- you can leave the car behind & enjoy the fresh air & greenery surrounding the property Suite 2 is located on the ground floor at the back of the property. With a pathway leading to the tropical back yard with gardens and a patio, your entry is separate and controlled with a coded keypad lock. The front door transforms opening into French doors, that connect the kitchen and living space with the outdoors if you wish. We keep our space clean, open and versatile for our guests, and as we live upstairs, are available to you should you desire company or assistance with anything. Make yourself at home during your stay! Enjoy a drink in the afternoon sun on the patio while the native birds fly in and around the trees, and forage on our back lawn. You have complete and exclusive access to Suite 2. We are happy to be as interactive as you need, I have curated a local guide to all of our favourite spots to dine, shop and experience in local area and greater Brisbane. Nestled between the trees near Enoggera Reservoir, with abundant native wildlife, nature walks, and a family friendly suburb, The Gap feels like you are in a secluded tropical part of Queensland. Yet the house is located 11km from Brisbane CBD and conveniently situated on the regular City Buz 385 bus route. A 5 minute walk to Waterworks road brings you to The Gap Buz 385 bus stop, which travels along The Gap into Ashgrove West, Bardon, Paddington, Roma Street Station, King George Square, and finally, Southbank Cultural Centre. There are limited stops available to keep travel times down, but stopping in the areas mentioned. Purchasing a GoCard from any newsagent makes travel easy as tapping on and off, Seniors are now given free off peak travel when using a GoCard. Download the TransLink app for journey times and updates. Walkabout Creek Cafe is a short 2 minute drive from our place, the walk is only 1.1km if you enjoy the scenic route. The television runs off of the (Hidden by Airbnb) Chromecast plug in, which means you need your smart phone to access TV stations via the apps they have created. We are available to help you sync up your phone to the TV if you are unfamiliar with this.
