This beautiful coastal thatched cottage is perfectly situated for a gorgeous holiday with family and friends in South Devon. It’s only 10 minutes walk to the beaches and is perfectly set up for modern living. We have excellent wifi & 4G if you need to work from home. There’s street parking in front of the house and in the village. *more photos to be uploaded* The house has 3 super king bedrooms, 1 family bathroom with bath/shower and loo, one en-suite bathroom with beautiful cast iron roll-top bath and loo. There is also a downstairs loo with washing machine /dryer. The house normally sleeps 6 but there is a fourth bedroom which has a comfortable double bed but we prefer to keep this room locked. This can perhaps be opened up to sleep two more people but this will be extra (total 8 guests) The house has beautiful thick stone walls with deep window seats, exposed stone and timber beams. The house has just been decorated in a contemporary textured coastal style with smooth brushed oak floorboards, Cotswold stone floors and light bedrooms with luxurious super-king beds, soft furnishings and rustic colour schemes. The back door opens onto a courtyard which has outdoor seating where it is sunny all day. The kitchen has a beautiful green AGA cooker (and a separate induction hob). The kitchen is fully equipped. The scrubbed pine kitchen table seats 8 adults underneath a beautiful wooden beam ceiling dating back to the 15th century Spanish Armada hospital shipwreck from which it is made. The AGA is off in summer. The living room seats 8 on deep linen and cotton sofas, around a massive open inglenook fireplace and has a 55inch smart TV. The village also has a great pub which is only 2 mins walk. The house is 10 mins walk from Thurlestone golf course which overlooks the sea. There is street parking in front of the house or elsewhere in the village. This is a very beautiful, very old house which is loved by us. Although it has its quirks such as some low ceilings and original windows, we hope you love and kindly respect it too.
