Casa Bianca in Tuscany
Sorano has been discovered! In an area once described as "unknown Tuscany," it has recently been noted in several top 10 lists about places to visit in Tuscany and Italy. Nevertheless, it remains surprisingly unspoiled and beautiful. Your host wrote "All the Noise of It: Living in a Tuscan Hilltown", and "Feasts from Paradiso", based upon his experiences living in Sorano for 30 years, and so is uniquely able to provide suggestions and insights for a particularly enjoyable stay. Sorano is lovely and extraordinary for a town in Tuscany as it is still well preserved and yet not at all touristy. It is very well positioned for day trips to Lake Bolsena, the "silver coast" of the Mediterranean, Orvieto, Tuscania and Siena. It is only 2 hours to Rome to the South and 2 hours North to Florence. My new listing, The Casa Bianca- called so because white is the predominant color- consists of a bedroom, with a large double bed, a sitting room with a single bed that can also be pulled out and used as a comfortable double bed. In the kitchen there is a day bed, that can also be used as a single bed. The bathroom is compact, with a shower, toilet and sink. Just below the window of the Casa Bianca is a private cul-de-sac, where my home is - and my cantina, which is always open for an excellent glass of wine that I make. Additionally my other apartment is there- listed with airbnb as Enchanting Medieval Hilltown. The two apartments, if available, can be rented together and accommodate as many as 9 people.
