Fencefoot Farm
Accommodation is in a spacious Victorian house, built in 1870. It is part of a courtyard with a deli, smokehouse and award-winning seafood restaurant. The house is beside the A78 road, backing onto the Fairlie moors. The house is self contained with own entrance and garden, while being attached to the old farmhouse which is occupied by the owner. In the courtyard there is a farm shop where you can find fresh fish (locally caught by Bernard), seafood, smoked fish and other local produce. There is also an acclaimed seafood restaurant "The Catch at Fins". Fencefoot is ideally situated for exploring the Clyde Coast and Islands. There is a private garden in front of the house. Bernard, the owner, lives next door in the old farmhouse. He has lived here for 30 years and knows the coast extremely well. He can help with local matters including where to dine and drink, and can offer fishing trips and boat rides around the islands. There is a Bus stop outside the house for buses to Ardrossan / Largs. Fairlie station is 4km away, with direct trains to Largs and Glasgow. There is a cycle path just outside the house, running between Hunterston and Largs.
