Olinda cottage is the perfect place to sit back, relax and unwind. Ideally positioned to soak up beautiful valley views and stunning mountain ranges from your private deck, Olinda cottage was designed as a retreat to slow down and recharge in a luxurious little piece of heaven. Olinda is a cosy one bedroom cottage that has a private entrance, parking out the front and from your private deck breathtaking views of our rolling green Hinterland. Set on 14 lush acres and home to over 10 varieties of fruit trees, where our guests are welcome to meander through and pick our fresh seasonal produce for your table. Alternatively, you may like to wander through our pine forest or spot wildlife in our tranquil regenerated rainforest areas or take a stroll down to our dam and explore the landscape. You first walk into a beautifully decorated bedroom that offers a comfortable queen size bed with quality linens. A cupboard to hang your clothes and a baggage rack to place your luggage. There is a wall mounted TV with remote. Adjoined is a stylish bathroom that includes a soaker tub, a spacious shower and includes all of the bathroom essentials. We supply fresh towels, a hair dryer, shampoo and soap. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, pots & pans, serving ware, cutlery, and includes a fridge, electric fan forced oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and a coffee plunger. We offer some local ingredients for a self-catered breakfast, which includes farm fresh eggs, sourdough, butter, muesli, milk, tea and coffee, or you can choose from our daily breakfast special brought to your door. *Please Note - Breakfast is included. The lounge area looks out across the deck to a vista of lush green hills, open the French doors and let the sunshine and gentle breeze flow through the cottage as you relax or in winter time snuggle into the lounge with the heater on you as you sit back to enjoy one of the many books in our collection or games on offer. Enjoy lingering over breakfast on the deck listening to our birdlife or take the opportunity to kick back in one of our deck chairs watching the sun setting in the late afternoon. Enjoy our beautiful hot tub for two and cosy up by our outside fireplace at sunset, a perfect way to end the day sharing a cheese platter and a glass or two by the open flames. Olinda cottage is located right next to the main house where we live, yet is completely private, a gate separates the path that leads to my home. You are greeted upon arrival to show you around the cottage and answer any questions, then you are left to enjoy your stay with complete peace and privacy. We are around most of the time so if you need anything we are never too far away. We have lived in the area for 20 years and are only too happy to recommend restaurants, beaches, surf spots, day trips and local attractions. We love meeting travelling folk and love sharing our beautiful property. We look forward to meeting you. Alstonville – is a short 10 minute drive to our local supermarket, cafes, bottle shop, chemist and some lovely specialist shops. Newrybar – Harvest Deli and restaurant is our favourite coffee spot. Stock up at the deli for the most delicious picnic food and bakery goods, or bring back some of their fine meats and cheeses for a platter on the deck. Make a reservation one evening at Harvest restaurant to experience Australian bush foods on the Wild Harvest menu. 18 minute drive. Bangalow – This lovely little town is the perfect place to take your time to meander along the streets and find a gorgeous array of cafés and shops. You will find art galleries, homeware stores and clothing boutiques. The Saturday farmers market is perfect for fresh produce, local cheeses and locally made pesto’s, jams and pickles. 20 minutes drive. Lennox head – A short drive down to the coast, Lennox Head has pristine surf beaches, or take a swim in the beautiful Lake Ainsworth (Tea Tree Lake). Visit the many cafes and restaurants to linger over a long lunch or dine by the sea side at our favourite wood fired pizza restaurant Quattro or breakfast, lunch or dinner at Shelter. 20 minutes drive. Byron Bay – 35 minutes down the highway is the vibrant sea side town of Byron Bay. Brimming with a wonderful choice of excellent cafes and restaurants Byron has become a mecca for travellers far and wide. The Farm makes for a wonderful stop to enjoy the many community business’s that reside on this beautiful property. Enjoy the bakery, restaurant, local produce store, nursery, gelato stall or take one of the informative walking tours of this incredible working farm. Federal – Perfect for a drive along our scenic hinterland roads to discover this quaint little village. Federal boasts one of our best Japanese restaurants Doma with a laid back vibe and delicious food. On weekends enjoy live music in the garden or pop into Moonshine coffee for a delicious brew. A weekend well spent. 25 minutes drive. Brunswick Heads – Where the river meets the ocean, Brunswick Heads is a bustling village with lovely boutiques, shops, cafes and restaurants. The perfect place to take a picnic rug, umbrella and unwind reading a book on one of the many protected sandy beaches. Kayaking is one of the holiday makers favourite past time on Brunswick river. 28 minutes drive. A car is recommended as we are not near public transport.
