Ammasari on the Rispana

The cottage sits on the edge of a 2 acre, terraced, family run organic farm & orchard. It is nestled in the hills across main Rajpur, in Ammasari, Kairvan Gaon. Surrounded by trees, the sun and birds reign the sky. Sounds of the river Rispana, which encircles the village, can be clearly heard from the verandah. On the property it feels far removed from the hustle bustle of urban life and is perfect for nature lovers, bird watchers, writes, artists or anyone looking for a quiet getaway. A one room independent cottage with a well equipped kitchenette and bathroom with hot running water. Has a verandah on two sides. Accommodates 2 people. Access is from Rajpur, the road is wide and tarred most of way to the village except for the last 0.5 kms which is an unpaved road and needs to be maneuvered with care - no speeding possible! There is ample parking on the property. While my family and I live in Dehradun city, we visit the farm almost everyday, and are easily available via phone if need be! My mother, the owner and manager of the property, is hands on and loves to interact with guests (if they wish) and give recommendations for things to do in the area. The cottage is located in the Rispana Valley, 1.5 kms from Rajpur. The last property in Ammasari, Kairvan Gaon, we have the village residents on the west side, from where one enters, and forest on the north and east sides. In the south flows the river. Rajpur has many restaurants cafes boutiques to offer, as also well stocked provision and vegetable stores. Shikhar falls are close by, the old walking route to Mussoorie, and many a walking trail to explore an old and historical part of Dehradun. We can connect you with reliable and safe taxi options for travel within Dehradun and Rajpur. Kairvan gaon (or the cottage) is not serviced by buses or other public transport. For those coming in their own private vehicles or with their own taxi, we have ample parking and the property is gated. Please note: we do not provide accommodation for drivers. 1. Animals are more than welcome, however, as pet owners ourselves, we understand that your pet often requires a little extra care and attention. An additional cleaning fee will be charged for pets.
