This comfortable and cozy water front home is located in Clear lake Oaks on a direct canal to the lake. The protection of the canal shields you from the winds and waves of the lake, but is only a couple of minutes from the open waters of Clear Lake. Clear Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake within California's borders and is a perfect retreat for relaxing, bird watching, water sports, hiking, wine tasting, gambling casinos, boating, and world-class fishing. The home is located 120 miles north of San Francisco in the middle of the Lake County wine country. Brassfield winery is just one of over 30 wineries that surround the lake. Front driveway parking with enough room for both a truck and boat trailer to park side by side. House offers private deck that scales the back of the home and leads down the ramp to the dock. The house has easy access to the main body of the lake. This is a family lake house and at one point or another we all participate with communicating with the guests. Usually via email, phone or text. The family is not on the premises but, can be easily reached for concerns or questions. This is a residential neighborhood with neighbors that are very close in proximity to the residence This is not a lakefront home however it resides in the keys set on Clearlake in Clearlake Oaks. The back deck and dock faces north. They keys is a unique housing community set on the water. There are water streets that are the backyards to the homes where people enjoy their decks to hang out with family, friends and to enjoy nature. Please be aware that voices and nosies carry across the water and echo into the back yards of others and can be a disturbance during late hours of the evening or early morning. There lake access as this home is located close to the mouth of the keys and boats can take note to the no wake zone signs as they enter and exit the keys area to the lake. Take note: Algae seasonally blooms in mid to late summer and can limit swimming from shoreline. The algae tends to flow in and out the keys during certain times of the day./night. This algae can cause an oder and green film on the water that is very evident in the water streets of the keys and other shallow areas of the large lake. This is uncontrollable and is due an invasive algae that has been battled locally for decades and the organic shallowness of the natural lake as whole. Ask host about lake conditions if you have concerns prior to reserving as we can not be held accountable for lake conditions. Clearlake has a wonderful reputation for its fishing and is popular in hosting many fishing competitions. However, the success of our guests fishing during their stay is not a responsibility of the house hosts or part of a guarantee when making a reservation. We do wish you all of the luck - but it’s really up to you and Mother Nature. This is a non-smoking home. Please respect this rule and only smoke in outside open spaces.
