A secluded, quiet and comfortable beach cottage directly on the powder soft, palm fringed beach of Matemwe. Private pool, BBQ and well equipped kitchen for self-catering. Within easy distance from restaurants and small beach lodges. Owners close by to offer any assistance you need with purchasing supplies, organising tours and interesting insights to island life. Right on one of the most beautiful beaches with your own pool and huge garden leading directly onto the beach. Great outdoor area for reading, relaxing, swimming and dinning al fresco. Great space for children to play. As the house is set back fromt he beach you enjoy total privacy. You have the house and the surrounds to yourself although there is staff present 24 hours. We, the owners are on hand to offer assistance with excursions, shopping, safaris etc. It is really up to you as little or as much as you want. You are welcome to join us for a drink or a meal if they want to hear about life on Zanzibar if you wish or we can just be there to say hi and bye and anything in-between! We are biased but the best on the island! It is so beautiful, quiet and unspoilt. There are a few places to eat and drink close by and the beach is long so you can cycle or walk to many places! Taxis are easily arranged but there is no public transport we can recommed. The dala dala drivers can travel a tad fast!! We prefer it if you use "our" taxi driver to meet you at the airport and transfer you to Indian Ocean House, he is a careful driver and knows just what our guests need in terms of popping into a shop or two for wine, groceries and anything else you may want or need. He speaks good English.
