Keeping the older kids entertained is not a problem with the recently opened Bikepark, it has a range of circuits to suit all abilities and you can rent mountain bikes from them for the day. If all of this is not enough then you have a range of beautiful beaches just 20 minutes away by car. The best way to get around is by car. Parking in the town of Ponte de Lima is easy and free and there are many places worthy of a visit. Just 15 minutes away you will find the wetlands of Lagoas de Bertiandes a wonderful spot where you can walk, observe the local wildlife and enjoy a picnic. Take a trip to the coast just 20 minutes away and you will find wide unspoilt sandy beaches and excellent seafood. 30 Minutes East you will find yourself on the edge of the Peneda de Geres National Park where great walking can be found. Head to Porto and pay a visit to the Port wine caves where you will be able to sample the wine and learn about its history and how it is made. Later on enjoy some of the sights in this beautiful old city such as the famous Lello Library where the amazing staircase is said to have provided JK Rowling with inspiration for her Harry Potter books. A double bedroom with direct access to the garden as well as a bathroom may be useful for guests that have difficulty with stairs.
