Our two bedroom house with garden is hidden away giving a secluded feel, but only a couple of minutes walk from the town's award winning High Street. An ideal base for walking, mountain biking, fishing, or just a relaxing break in the lovely surroundings of the Tweed Valley. Edinburgh which is only 23 miles away is easily accessible by car or bus. You will have exclusive access to the entire house. On the ground floor there is a comfortable livingroom complete with a wood burning stove and a complimentary basket of logs, just in case the weather turns a bit cold. There is a TV and a DVD player. The well equipped kitchen is at the back of the house. Here you will find everything you need for your self catering break, including complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt and pepper, and maybe a few extra treats! Off the kitchen there is a utility room with a washing machine, and a kit room which can be used for secure bike storage(access to this is from the back of the house and involves coming up a short set of steps). Outside at the back of the house is a secluded private garden with table and chairs. The bathroom is also on the ground floor, shampoo, shower gel and toothpaste will be available for your use should you want it. Towels will also be provided. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The first has a double bed. The second bedroom has two single beds which can be converted into one king size bed, just let us know which arrangement suits you best. Both bedrooms have small televisions with free view channels. There are a selection of DVDs, books , and the house has a good WiFi connection. You will have exclusive access to the entire house and garden. If you need to contact us during your stay we will be available to message, and will get back to you as soon as possible, often immediately! Peebles is in the heart of the beautiful Tweed Valley but only 23 miles from Edinburgh. On the doorstep there are endless opportunities for outdoor activities; walking, mountain biking and road cycling, horse riding, fishing, Go Ape Treetop adventure, and Alpaca trekking. There are also a leisure centre and swimming pool in the town. If you are after something a little less active, there are a range of independent shops, a theatre, galleries and a chocolate school. Many of the local amenities are within walking distance so you can enjoy a break in Peebles without access to a car. There is a local bus service and various local taxi companies for things a little further afield. There is a regular bus service which will take you to the centre of Edinburgh in an hour, or in the other direction goes to the historic borders town of Melrose. If you are driving there are many scenic drives to explore the Scottish Borders countryside. Car hire is available locally if required. You will find information on the house and local area along with a second set of keys on the kitchen table when you arrive. There is also a selection of information leaflets about local attractions on the shelves in the living room. (due to Covid it is advisable to check if/when places are open before setting out)
