Converted village barn.

The suite of two double rooms has a private bathroom with shower and walk in wardrobe. The guests will have the use of all the amenities of this tastefully renovated property which include a 100m2 kitchen and living-room looking out onto a walled garden with terrace. There is private parking for a car and a somewhat eccentric Wifi service! This attractive house enjoys views of open countryside but yet is part of a working village boasting two bars, two excellent butchers/ grocery shops and an outdoor pool. This is a wonderfully comfortable base from which to visit the stunning villages, coastal areas and natural parks of Catalunya. When the hosts are not in residence a family member who lives across the patio is always on hand for help and good ideas about what to see and do in the surrounding area. The village of Cabanes is in a perfect location with many natural and historic places of interest and beauty within easy reach. The neighbouring villages of Peralada and Vilabertran are well worth a visit and Figueras (Dali museum) is 10 minutes away. There are many opportunities for walking, cycling and golf in the area. The village is not well served by public transport and to take full advantage of the area it is necessary to have a car. The Hosts: we are the joint owners, Steve (retired) and Sinéad (still teaching!!) and the neighbour and sister, Áine. The project to restore a house and barn has been a great experience and we hope that if you come to stay you will love it as much as we do. We all enjoy meeting new and interesting people.
