The Wallkill River Guest House is located in Ulster County, in the charming hamlet of Wallkill in the scenic Hudson/ Shawangunk Valleys. Our historic home has spacious rooms tastefully appointed and has all the amenities to make you feel right at home. We are centrally located to beautiful vistas, wineries, Angry Orchard, and Legoland. Whether your stay is a weekend, a week, or longer, come and relax in a stress free, scenic, historic area. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or for a longer vacation stay, our fully supplied Guest House is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The Shawangunk Ridge (Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk), is a pleasant, scenic 15-20 minute drive up Albany Post Road, for relaxation and peace of mind. The Wallkill Rail Trail can be enjoyed a short 5 minute walk from the guest house. It is a 3 mile paved path that runs from Wallkill to Walden where you can walk, jog, or ride bikes and enjoy the historical scenery of the Borden Home Farm. We are located on the Shawangunk Wine Trail, and Angry Orchard is 2 minutes away. Several Farm Stands and Orchards are just a short scenic drive away. Legoland is a scenic 20 minute drive. Free (and safe) parking is available on Wallkill Ave, in front of our antique shop Wallkill River House which is open by appointment. We have a full kitchen, stocked with necessities ( and offer grocery shopping service so kitchen is ready when you arrive. (please inquire) In the fridge you will find farm fresh eggs, juice, milk, creamer, coffee and tea, condiments, etc. Our guest house has a comfortable dining room, living room with queen sofa sleeper (very comfy) and desk work area with reliable Spectrum wifi throughout the house. Upstairs are 3 comfortable bedrooms-2 with queen beds (pillow top memory foam mattresses and toppers) and 1 with full size bed (Knit & Tuck mattress)- and large modern, full bath with full size tub and shower. Strictly no smoking inside the guest house. Minimum 2 night stays are required. There are certain instances where we would allow a 1 night stay. Please inquire. Our guests have private access to the entire house, front porch, back porch, and back yard, which has porch seating as well as a patio set where you can hear the peaceful sounds of the nearby waterfall on the Wallkill River. Our newly installed fire pit is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a full day of sightseeing, hiking, or dining. Our guests have full privacy but we are available if you have any questions or needs. Access to the basement is not allowed. We are available to assist you during your stay (socially distanced, of course!). We will provide you with a number so you can contact us if needed or if you have any questions. Our Guest House is located in the heart of the historic district in the the hamlet of Wallkill, NY, birthplace of Borden's home farm and Elsie the Cow! We are surrounded by beautiful vistas, the Shawangunk Ridge, and so many things to do! The Shawangunk Ridge, world renowned for rock climbing, (Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park [great for hiking and swimming], ), is a pleasant 15-20 minute drive up Albany Post Road. We are located on the Shawangunk Wine Trail. Angry Orchard Cidery is 2 minutes away. Legoland is an easy 25 minute drive. Our country antique and home accessory shop is open by appointment, and is located next door in an 1820 carriage house. Hudson Valley Chocolates is located directly across from our shop, featuring hand made caramels and luscious chocolates. Pasquale's Italian Eatery is located down the block and is available for dine-in or take-out, as well as Elsie's Place (bar and bbq), liquor store, many delis, and Tosco's Pizza. The Wallkill Valley Rail Trail offers a 3 mile paved trail that connects Wallkill with Walden, great for biking, roller blading, and walking. In winter, you can ice skate at Popp's Pavillion, where our Lion's Club has flooded the pavilion for free, fun skating! In warm months, launch your canoe, small boat or kayak at the boat launch located at Popp's Pavilion on the Wallkill River or further north at New Paltz. Our location is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful scenery and so much to do. Our hamlet is surrounded by beautiful vistas such as the spectacular view of the Shawangunk Ridge from the nearby bridge over the Wallkill River. You may even see our glorious bald eagles that nest near the river! We know these are stressful times. Come relax in our guest house. Your home in the country! You won't be disappointed! Our area can be explored by car or bicycle. Uber and Lyft are available, if needed. Our town is very pleasant to walk. There are many scenic routes in our area, dotted with places of interest. The Wallkill Rail Trail is within walking distance and is a great place to relax and take a stroll. Beacon, and all it has to offer, is a short 20 minute drive. The college town of New Paltz, with eateries and shops, is just 12 minutes north. Planning your trip during the week has many advantages. Our area is breathtakingly beautiful, no matter the season! The local preserves and parks are less crowded and are easier to access and you save money on our weekday pricing.
