Black Mountains View Cottage
Black Mountains View is a quaint cottage situated in the village of Gilwern within the Brecon Beacons National Park. The 200 year old Mon & Brecon canal passes through the village which as many pretty pubs & canal boats meandering along this wonderful tree-lined canal. It is a great place to begin exploring the magnificent Brecon Beacons National Park & nearby Crickhowell which has become 'festival city' holding a Walking Festival in February, Green Man in August & Literary Festival in October. Please be aware before you book the cottage that we have narrow stairs up to the bedrooms, so it may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues. If you would like to use the hot tub please let us know and give us 24 hours notice to enable us to get it ready in time for your stay. You have access to all the cottage including the gardens which as a lovely sunny patio & the garage, if you need to store bikes, canoes or your car. All we ask is to treat our cottage as though it was your own & to enjoy it. If you need any assistance while you are staying at the cottage then you can contact us by telephone, both our mobile numbers are within the guest information pack. Gilwern village is a lovely little place with your typical village pub, local convenience shop, fish & chip shop & other small independent shops. You can walk from the front door & within no time at all you can be on the Mon & Brecon canal enjoying the stunning scenery, local wildlife & winding down into your holiday. We have off road parking at the cottage which you can use along with the garage. If you arrive without transport then you can use the X4 bus which runs an hourly service between Hereford & Cardiff. This takes you into Abergavenny the nearest town with your usual high street shops (Burtons, New Look, Costa etc). Please let us know if you would like to use the hot tub and we can set it up ready to use as soon as you arrive.
