Bed & Breakfast in renovated farmhouse

We welcome you to our home, a French farmhouse, some parts dating back to 1771. Renovated to a high standard, keeping traditional features, with some quirky & artistic touches.  Beautiful gardens, views & pool. The bedroom is in the old part of the house, on the 1st floor reached by it's own staircase. Large and airy, kingsize double bed. Downstairs is a private bathroom with shower, bath, basin and toilet. Perfect for one or two night's stop over, long weekend or mini break in the country. A Fabulous place to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside, and a chance to unwind for a few days. The bedroom is served by it's own old staircase that leads directly into the room with your private bathroom that is underneath the bedroom. It is situated at one end of the house just off the dining room. Complimentary tea & coffee making facilities in the room .  Enjoy our much acclaimed luxury breakfast, bread and croissants with homemade jams, charcuterie, cereals & fruit, yoghurts , teas and coffee . We will look forward to welcoming and spoiling you. * PLEASE NOTE * Breakfast is normally served in our dining room or outside when the weather allows ....... because of the risk of covid still, and it's a private home, we try serve breakfast and evening meals outside, as often as we can. Taken either on the deck terrace or under our pretty 'fairy light' covered area. We can provide an outside heater. But as we are only open this year, just for the late spring & summer, this should not be a problem ☀️☀️☀️. We think this will just make your stay unusual and extra special 🤩 * INFORMATION  COVID19 * We respectfully  ask our guests to adhere to the hygiene guidelines (inc showing vaccination pass if required) We would appreciate that mask's are worn in shared indoor spaces. Please use the hand gel provided on entering the house. Keep appropriate social / physical distancing . We trust that you are in good health and not travelling from an infected area or showing any coronavirus symptoms. This is to protect us, as hosts, future guests and the Dordogne. We need minimum 48 hours notice for bookings to allow the room to stay quarantined after preparation. To give us the opportunity to fully disinfectant the room after the last guest, We will never take a booking with a same day changeover. We have signed up to the Airbnb cleaning protocol. We are so sorry for the need of the above rules ........ strange & unfortunate times....... 😐 Guests can use the pool and sun loungers, available from around 4pm each day and first thing in the morning ( No all day access) Pool open from the end May subject to weather. Please respect it is our home, it is not a hotel or private self catering Gite. We just offer bed and breakfast. We assume you will be out sightseeing the beautiful area during the day. Leaving the premises after breakfast and not returning until around 4pm. Therefore, generally there will not be all day access to the house or swimming pool, because the hosts may go out during this time. There is a little private seating space in the garden, where you can enjoy a cool drink. You are more than welcome to walk and sit, and enjoy in the garden. Luxury breakfast is included., from 8am to 9.30. Earlier can be arranged, please ask. Complimentary Tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Hairdryer & hair products for your use. The house is in a quite hamlet with a few other houses. We are set back from any road, quiet & private . Very occasionally the neighbours enjoy their family holidays together too, but everyone is very respectful. It is set in the beautiful Perigord Limousin National Park. We are on the border of three departments Dordogne, Charente & Haute Vienne. Plenty to see and do from Chateaux to lakes,  Roman baths to the Route of Richard the Lionheart,  old forges & mills to markets. Perfect area for walkers and cyclists. The beautiful town of  Brantome (venice of the Dordogne) is just 50 mins drive. The chateau of La Rochefoucald with its Leonardo de Vinci staircase 30 mins.  Approx 20 mins away is the popular lake St Estephe, with beach, swimming, picnic area, toilets/changing  and snack bar. Restaurants of all types a short drive away in various directions.  Bar in the local village 4 mins away. We can also offer an evening meal on your first night, so you can relax after arriving, with no worries about going back out again. You will need a car. Cyclists will be more limited Electric cars welcome Please make sure you have read and understood all the Covid rules and outside eating arrangements , thank you 😀 We will endeavour to reply to your reservation or enquiries within a few hours. We can offer a 3 course evening meal on your first night, or cheese and charcuterie served with homemade chutneys This can be most welcome if you have had a long journey and not wanting to go out again. Please request in advance. No keys to guests, but arrangements can be made if you are going to be late out in the evening wet & muddy shoes to be left at the entrance.
