Martha’s House boasts stunning views across the Derwent River. Styled with vintage finds and contemporary comforts, the home provides a contemporary yet relaxed getaway. It is walking distance to shops, and has a bus stop across the road that heads into Hobart's CBD. Whilst a pleasant 15min walk, 10min bike ride or 5min drive along the river has you on the doorstep of MONA. You will never want to leave the warm and welcoming hospitality of Martha's House. Stunning gardens, rolling lawn and a sun drenched deck are just the beginning. Step inside Martha's to find two relaxed and comfortable living spaces with fabulous views, a formal dining area, and a casual dining nook in the sunny and exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Two queen bedrooms, one with a newly renovated en-suite, and a spacious bathroom with bath perfectly accomodate two couples or a family of four. Pets are most welcome. Although the yard itself is divided by a fence, Martha and her owner live at the back. Guests have exclusive access to the entire house and garden, as well as secure parking on the property. We have a small house at the rear of the property that we reside in during guest stays. However it does not impinge on guest privacy at all. We are always contactable by phone for any guest needs. Martha’s House is designed for the travelling guest and is located within an easy drive or bus ride into Hobart's CBD. We are the perfect place from which to set off to explore the Derwent Valley. Just up the road is the must-visit town of New Norfolk where you will find the best antique shops in Tasmania and the famous Agrarian Kitchen to dine and stock up on gourmet supplies. We also have numerous wineries and cellar doors within a 30min drive. But the best thing about our area is the close proximity to Tasmania's spectacular MONA - art lovers, concert goers, architecture buffs - whatever your reason the 15min walk along the river to MONA will be a highlight of your stay at Martha's House. There is plenty of secure parking on the property and in the streets surrounding it. We have a bus stop across the road, as well as bike and walking tracks for easy access into the CBD and other areas in and around Hobart. There is no additional cleaning fee charged so in return please simply respect our house.
