Lovely flat in a village above Lake Maggiore

Magognino is a typical Italian village, in a tranquil, rural location. Guests can use our large garden, which has breath-taking views of the lakes and mountains. Behind the village are woods and pastureland with sheep and Alpine cows roaming, lovely for walking. The elegant, lakeside town of Stresa, bustling with restaurants and cafes, is only 10 minutes away. We offer an introductory ukulele lesson during your stay - 10 euros pp for an hour's lesson + 20% reduction for bigger groups. The apartment is spacious and bright. It has 2 bedrooms, and can accommodate between 4 and 6 people. It is on the ground floor and accessible to people with limited mobility. Guests have full access to the large terraced garden where they can relax, or walk up to the top of the garden, where there are spectacular views of the lake and mountains. As we are living above the apartment, we will be available to answer any queries as they arise and assist guests with any of their requirements including lifts to Stresa if necessary. We also respect the privacy of guests, should they prefer to be left alone. Magognino is an ancient village in a lovely tranquil, rural setting. Our favourite aspects of living here include waking up to a lively chorus of birdsong, and the rich, woody, earthy smell as you open the front door. The air is crystal clear and the drinking water is loaded with minerals. The local people are exceptionally friendly, many of whom have lived here all their lives. There is a beautiful church and infant school, and a small shop selling award-winning salami, wine and cheese. Magognino has some beautiful old villas, as well as cosy rural houses. We are 10 minutes in the car from Stresa which has bus and rail connections. We are 7 minutes from the motorway to Milan and Malpensa airport. There is a bus from the village to Stresa about 5 times a day. A car is definitely advisable to properly access all the surrounding attractions. If you don't have a car, we can help you with lifts to the local town and shops, but it is better to have a car for more options. There is a taxi service from Stresa but it is expensive and taxis are not always available when you need them. The apartment on the ground floor has views of the village and some mountains. There is a private patio where guests can sit. Guests are welcome to use the garden from which there are spectacular views of the lake and mountains. There are areas for sunbathing with sun loungers and tables and chairs. Some of the higher parts of the garden are steeply terraced, so very young children should be supervised. However there is a clear demarcation between the safe, flat areas and where the terraces start. Most children who come to stay love the garden. Another thing is there is no grocery store in the village. For general groceries, guests need to go to the supermarkets in Stresa and other locations. We can also help out with food if guests arrive late at night.
