Peaceful getaway within an oasis of natural beauty

The Lodge is a lovely detached cottage light, airy and has been lovingly restored with some quirky contemporary features. The drive has parking for 2 cars. To the rear of the cottage is a north facing garden which is surrounded by a small stream, the garden looks up on to lovely forest of trees and shrubbery & the garden has sun on it all day. A perfect family getaway or a romantic couple’s hidden gem Entering into the front door of cottage taking the path by the rose beds & into a small lobby & then the main sitting room. The main feature is a big stone fireplace with a wood burning stove. Moving through a doorway into the kitchen, one of a couple of entrances. The kitchen is a great space for gathering, chatting eating, drinking; with a 2 oven aga, stainless steel units, smeg fridge, wood panelled eating area & a beautiful wooden floor. A utility room with separate washer & drier & downstairs toilet is reached through a stable doorway plus also access to the garden. 2 steps lead from the kitchen back into the main hall of the cottage where there is an understair wooden desk area & access to the second TV room. Upstairs one double bedroom, a small twin bedroom & a quirky bathroom with bath & shower. Fluffy white towels & crisp white cotton bedlinen is provided for 4 guests & a welcome pack including soap, shower wash, coffee, tea, milk, bread, a bottle of wine, washing up liquid & tea towels. All of the cottage and garden Happy for you to call any time between 550am & 10pm Please note there is a cctv camera on back of house that my boys use to watch the deer & rabbits in the garden as part of a school project. When guest come to the cottage the camera is unplugged and never in use. From the Lodge you can walk up the lane and then drop down and follow the stream to Castle Combe along the fields is a stunning walks anytime of the year. Castle Combe has some great places to eat and drink as well as having a race track. Castle Combe race track holds trackdays for both cars and motorcycles, the Circuit holds a large number of car shows. These shows follow a general motorsport theme and exhibit show stands, market stalls, stunt demonstrations, classic displays and on certain days the circuit is able to hold track sessions. Throughout the year, Castle Combe Circuit is the current venue for Spring Action Day, Classic, retro & kit car action day, Forge Motorsport action day and Japfest Perfect surf all year round 30 minute drive from the cottage The Wave is an inland surf destination where everyone can surf on consistent, safe waves all year round. We'll be rolling a fantastic variety of waves to suit all levels of surfer, from beginner to expert, from 7am to 9pm most days. We are just 8 miles from Junction 17 and 18 of the M4. We are about 20 minutes to the historic town of Bath and similar to Bristol ideal for shopping and seeing the sights. The nearest train station is Chippenham providing direct routes to London. There is a local bus and the bus stop is 4 mins walk west from the cottage by the stream & The Old Smithy
