A beautifully renovated 5 bedroom home on the hill with spectacular views of The Prom, Corner Inlet, Shallow Inlet & Hoddle Ranges. "Meerundberg" is the perfect spot for friends and families to come together, relax and enjoy a spacious house with large gardens; or take a drive to wild, ocean beaches, stunning swimming locations, fabulous bushwalking trails or visit local townships with cafes, galleries and natural beauty spots. High-quality bed linen, towels, furnishings. Next to restaurant. "Meerundberg" is pretty special as all our visitors say. Situated in the green and rolling hills of South Gippsland, our lovely property provides stunning views and welcoming country vistas. The house is set on 3 acres including beautiful gardens, park- like areas and the paddocks for alpacas. Five bedrooms and two spacious living spaces are surrounded by farmland with fabulous Prom views from all the windows down one side of the house. The garden is filled with roses, herbs and perennials bordering the southern side (Prom) of the house. The firepit and outdoor dining furniture sits alongside the south. We have a productive strawberry garden, raised vege beds, citrus and guava trees to the east. And the pergola overlooks the lawn and deciduous trees to the north. Winter is wonderful here; warm inside by the two fires and spectacular weather outside; racing clouds one minute and soft mists the next. Winter showcases the Prom with sunny days offering clear views to the mountains and inlet. Summer offers comfortable living inside, BBQs outside with outdoor dining or having a wine on the verandah in the evenings. Beers around the firepit while looking out to starry night sky. Spot The Southern Cross or the Moon. Look out at stunning views to the Prom and enjoy a great range of outdoor activities in the surrounding national parks, townships and attractions. Meerundberg is perfect for groups of couples, young families or couples with adult kids, and in particular, the extended family. A warmly welcoming and large family country home, fully equipped with almost everything, the layout and large spaces make our place very versatile. Some guests say it's like two houses in one. Depending on how many guests have been booked in, bedrooms may be closed off. The King/Master bedroom is available by default. The garage and a small office are private otherwise you have the run of the house and acreage. We look forward to welcoming you to our home. Our goal is for you to arrive, settle in, relax and enjoy your stay. The key will be left for you in a locked box (self check-in) so you can arrive any time after 2pm and check out at 11am. There is a well lit path (movement activated) along drive/garage and along the verandah. Plenty of car parking on gravel drive is right outside of the door. Fiona is always accessible by phone if you need any information or assistance. We provide visual info on the IPAD on arrival to assist you with settling in but we still do an old school information booklet as well. "Meerundberg" is situated about 5 minutes drive from the country township of Foster. Foster has great amenities with 2 supermarkets, local butcher and fish shop, fruit and vege grocery store, 2 bakeries, several eateries and gift shops, 2 galleries, Foster Golf Club, Foster and Toora swimming pools, a library, tennis courts, a playground and oval, a skate park, Parks Victoria information office and a hospital. We live next to a winery restaurant- walk to breakfast, lunch or dinner in 5 minutes. We are also only 15 minutes from Fish Creek and Alison Lester's bookshop and the famous art deco fish on top of the Fishy pub. Its 30 minutes to the wild ocean beaches of Waratah Bay, Walkerville, and a great surf beach at Sandy Point and also Shallow Inlet which is famous for launching boats from the beach, windsurfing and beach fishing as well as sand dune surfing (which the kids love.) Agnes Falls is a short drive from Toora, a small town to the west of Foster and its well worth a visit. Toora offers the Prom Coast icecream shop, Latte Dah cafe, and a heated summer swimming pool. Beyond is the Tarra Bulga range and the Grand Ridge Road. Of course, Wilsons Prom, aka 'The Prom', is known for its natural beauty of family friendly river wading, sandy bathing bays, windswept ocean beaches and anything from easy strolls with beautiful views to overnight bush walks. We are about 55 minutes drive to Tidal River, the township at The Prom. Day visiting is free and there is a cafe, takeaway and general store there. Walking on a lovely evening on any of the surrounding beaches is truly special. See our photos for some of the day activities you could choose from while you are visiting. When you arrive, we have a number of brochures you can look at to decide what you would like to do while you stay here. The Parks info office is close by in Foster if you require further information. We also often take a short stroll to The Lookout on South Gippsland Highway. There is again a wonderful view from 2 picnic tables and an elevated look out deck up there. Its a truly amazing location. Car is the best option for flexibility but there is a Melbourne bus to Foster twice or three times a day. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Our home is in a rural setting. Please note, there may be wildlife, farm noises, etc, as found in rural settings. The house has no stairs internally. There is a single step into the house on all sides. The best Mobile Phone reception is through the Telstra network and Optus (other network providers may not work well. ) As we are in a rural zone, our house internet is limited and sometimes unreliable especially during inclement weather or heavy usage time frames. We have a large selection of DVDs however and we can usually access the usual TV channels. We ask that you recognise that our water in summer is limited(tank water so it depends on rain fall).
