Rathmines near Lake Macquarie
A large room, with en-suite, separate to the main house. A continental breakfast provided with use of toaster, kettle, coffee pod machine and microwave. Walking distance to Rathmines village, Lake Macquarie and Club Catalina. Rathmines is home to the WW2 Catalina flying base with some buildings remaining. 10 minutes from the M1 via the Toronto exit. 35 minutes to Newcastle, 45 minutes to Hunter Valley vineyards. Lake Macquarie is the largest salt water lake in the Southern Hemisphere. Large room separate from the main residence with a queen sized bed and a sofa bed. Separate shower and toilet. Dining table and six chairs for eating meals. Large windows overlooking garden with glimpses of the lake. Outdoor barbeque area available. Back yard and barbecue facilities. I prefer to give guests space but I am happy to be contacted via email or phone. Close to Rathmines village with a high quality Chinese restaurant and shops. Club Catalina has an Asian restaurant. Shared walking/bike track along the shore of Lake Macquarie. Toronto Golf Club 5 mts drive. Rathmines was home to the WW2 flying boat base from which Catalina flying boats played a very important role in the war. A walking tour of the original site can be provided by the host. . Guests will need a car to access Newcastle and Hunter Valley but Rathmines is very bike friendly with a shared walking/bike track along the lake foreshore. We have a dog (golden retriever) who is a quiet, very friendly dog who loves having AirBnB guests.
