You’ll love our cosy, comfortable home because we are 2 minutes drive from Tavistock and the location is within walking distance of the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. Ideal for walkers, a warm welcome awaits our guests, and we will try to accommodate any requests. Flexibility is our key word - we can on occasion accept last minute bookings. Friendly atmosphere, home from home experience in a very peaceful area of Tavistock. You will have your own bathroom and bedroom with tea/coffee making facilities, TV and hairdryer and of course a key to come and go as you please should you need one. Breakfast is in the dining room and can be varied. The kitchen can also be used. There is a parking place on the drive next to our car and also a regular bus service into town, only 1 mile away, or into Plymouth on the citybus every 20 minutes. We like to socialize with guests, but equally respect guests that would like their privacy. We would like to think our guests could always feel they can ask us on any request. Mike's knowledge of Dartmoor and Bodmin is extensive, and he would be only too happy to provide guided walks and map reading skills. We find that local knowledge of places to visit and events is useful! Very friendly neighbourhood within walking distance of Dartmoor walking distance to town centre, bus routes to town and Plymouth. Whitchurch Down, a 15 minute walk, has a 360 degree view of Cornwall and Devon. Tavistock has numerous independent shops and pavement cafes, also good eating places. Locally sourced produce is high on the agenda here. Cinema and swimming pool. North, south devon and some Cornish beaches all within 40 minutes-1 hour drive, Tamar Valley AONB and scenic train to Plymouth 15 minutes drive. Tavistock World Heritage Site and best pannier market in the country. Plymouth 30 minutes drive, Brittany ferries to France and Spain also go from there. We are so close to many Devon and Cornish places of interest: Tavistock Town Centre 1.3miles / 2 mins. Whitchurch Down Moor 1 mile / 2 mins. Buckland Abbey 6miles / 15 mins. Plymouth 14 miles / 30 mins. Gunnislake (Tamar Valley line) 6 miles / 15 mins. Saltash 15 miles / 30 mins. South Cornwall coast line (Looe, Seaton, Portwrinkle) 29 miles / 50 mins
