Gateway to Cradle Mountain, close to Sheffield, Latrobe & Devonport & Spirit of Tasmania. Your comfortable self contained studio is separated from the main house by a carport giving you privacy. It has a comfy bed with electric blanket, en-suite bathroom, kitchen with Microwave oven, kettle, toaster & small fridge. We provide a breakfast of plunger coffee, tea, muesli, fruit, yoghurt, toast, and condiments. Parking is available adjacent to your room. Enjoy fresh clean air, tall trees and country life in a quiet, peaceful setting, all within 20 minutes from towns and attractions. There are outside sitting areas including the deck & you are welcome to walk around the gardens, sit outside with your coffee or wine & make yourself feel at home. If privacy, seclusion & a serene atmosphere is your wish then you will find it here, alternatively, for those wishing to interact with us we are happy to be available. Sharing a coffee or wine & good conversation is enjoyable & relaxing if you have the time. Our wish is that you feel at home & enjoy your stay. You may be lucky enough to see an Echidna, or other wildlife, bird lovers will be rewarded with Wrens, Kookaburras, Wattle Birds, &Scarlet Robins. We are here to help with suggestions for local attractions and general information and would love to hear of your travel experiences. Our home is situated between Devonport and Sheffield and many attractions. As a previous host for overseas students, learning about other cultures is of interest to us. Your privacy is respected but we are available for coffee or a chat if you wish or perhaps a glass of wine. For the Adventure lovers there are many walks/hikes as suggested: Narawntapu National Park Cradle Mountain Bay of Fires Wineglass Bay Painted Cliffs - Maria Island Liffey Falls Mount Roland Semi Rural with small properties in the surrounding hills, approx. 15 - 20 minutes from nearby towns of Devonport, Sheffield, Latrobe and local attractions. You will find great restaurants and coffee at the following venues: Anvers Chocolate Factory is a must see for tastings, morning tea or lunch. Zest in Devonport for breakfast, coffee or lunch is a favourite while at Sheffield, do check out The Epicurean. You can experience Cradle Mountain, Mole Creek, Devil's Gullet, & King Solomon's Caves. Visit Strawberry Farms, Ashgrove Cheese & much more for a taste of Tasmania's finest. There are wonderful local wineries namely Barringwood and Ghost Rock, & further on to Tamar Valley you will find excellent wines to suite your palate. We recommend Tamar Ridge Cellar Door & Josef Chromy Winery near Launceston for first class wines. Jansz and Piper's Brook Wineries are North East of Tamar Valley & time permitting are worthwhile visiting. We can help you plan for day trips so please discuss your ideas with us and we will provide the necessary information. There is no public transport from our home into town so you need your own vehicle. There are several local car rentals if you wish to hire a vehicle. As we live in a semi rural area, there is no public transport from here so your own vehicle is necessary. For visitors who arrive on the Spirit of Tasmania, we can make allowances for earlier check in at time of booking. Please arrange this with us before you arrive. There are several fine restaurants and hotels available for evening meals, however the BnB kitchen has a microwave so you may wish to bring hot chicken or other food suitable for heating. We provide an Electric skillet & a George Foreman Grill also.
