A charming, luminous cottage with views of the Calumet lagoon, just a quick 5 minute walk to Lake Michigan beaches, trails and the Lake Street boat launch. Surrounded by water on both sides and a haven for kayakers, jet-skiers, and beach bums. Newly renovated 1920’s home featuring tasteful midcentury modern design, a fully functional kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living room / dining area, and a generous outdoor patio space with a large fenced in yard to make entertaining easy. DETAILS: ->Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, this cottage just north of the Calumet lagoon is a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Michigan and the dunes. ->Sleeps four (4) people in queen and full beds in private bedrooms, and two (2) people in a double bunk bed room. 100% cotton linens, blankets and hypo-allergenic pillows are provided for each room. ->Convenient self check-in available with electronic keypad access; we will send you the code via email or text so you don't have to worry about picking up keys (or losing them)! ->Parking: On-street parking is for guests/residents only and reserved for 3 cars in front of the house. **NEW** We now have a *14 foot wide gate* in the backyard for guests with trucks or watercraft who need off-street parking and would like to park in the grass inside the fence. ->We provide full kitchen settings, cookware, paper products (toilet paper, napkins, etc), towels, soap, and coffee. -> The T.V. is a Roku Smart TV. You can enjoy tons of free USA and International content. You can also use your personal login to access Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ , ESPN, Hulu, HBO and other apps. ->Washer/ Dryer is accessible upon request via an outside basement entry. HOUSE RULES: 1. Smoking - We do not allow smoking of any kind within the house.  2. Pets - No pets are allowed on the premises. 3. Children - We are happy to welcome children of all ages in the house. 4. Unregistered Guests - Please tell us how many guests you plan to invite to the house when you complete your booking. 5. Noise - please note that the house has a basement garden apartment with a separate, private entry. We ask that you remain respectful to our tenants in the garden unit and keep your noise volume at a reasonable level. You will have the entire house to yourself, including the deck (with table/chairs ) and grill. I live nearby and am available to help you with directions, advice or other special needs to make your stay go well. My goal is to make sure your stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible! Miller Beach is a beach community nestled in the Indiana Dunes National Park and a premier destination for environmentalists and birders in the Midwest! Hiking, trails and kayaking are just 5 minutes by foot; and downtown Miller Beach is just 5 minutes by car, offering delicious restaurants and unique hipster boutiques. Easy access to Marquette Park, the Chanute Trail, Marquette Park Pavilion and Aquatorium, and the Indiana Dunes Paul H. Douglas Visitors Center, which has children's activities and daily ranger-led hikes and events. By Car: Miller Beach is 40 minutes east from Chicago and easy to reach by car by US Interstate 90 or Interstate 80/94 By Train: Miller Beach is about 1 hour east of Chicago via the South Shore Commuter Train Line. Just buy tickets at Millennium Station in Chicago and get off at the Miller Station. By Bus: During June, July and August the Indiana Dunes National Park offers a FREE beach shuttle that takes you directly from the Miller Train Station to Lake Street Beach (our cottage is just a few minutes walk from Lake Street Beach).
