That 70’s Cottage with Pool and Tennis Court
It’s a typical 70’s house, built in 1973. Very comfortable, very retro in style but with modern era comforts including WiFi and modern TV with Netflix capability. The location ensures complete peace and quiet, being part of a 40 acre property which includes 15 acres of bush. A fence surrounding the house ensures that children and animals alike are safe and have plenty of play area. The visiting kangaroos and beautiful bird life are a delight. Only 8 minutes from Kyneton. My husband and I live on a 40 acre property within the lovely hamlet of Lauriston. We moved here 4 years ago from Melbourne and haven't looked back. The main house, which we live in, is a French farm style house, while the cottage, which guests will be staying in, is the original house. There are beautiful views towards the Malmsbury Reservoir, while there is extensive bird life throughout the Eucalyptus Trees scattered throughout the property. A large mob of kangaroos live between our property and next doors, and you will often see up to 50 kangaroos outside the cottage first thing in the morning or just before sunset. Feel free to roam around the property, exploring through the trees and around the dams, and hopefully you'll understand why we gave up the city life for Lauriston. We will be available to guests at all times upon their request but at the same time, will give them the space they also require. Our house is located about 200 metres from the cottage. Guests are free to explore the entire property with the exception of our house. Guests have access to both the pool (9am-5pm) and tennis court, however, guests should be aware that my husband and I have access also. Lauriston is located about 5 minutes from Kyneton, which is a sophisticated little town and extraordinary food hub. It is the perfect location to explore the beautiful Macedon Ranges and Victoria's spa country. Kyneton, Trentham and Trentham Falls, Daylesford, Hepburn Springs, Turpins Falls, Hanging Rock and Mt Macedon are all within a half hour drive. Lauriston is just over a one hour drive from Melbourne and is best accessed by car. There is a train station in Kyneton and a taxi available, however, I recommend coming by car in order to make the most of your stay while here. Feel free to ask us for any recommendations relating to food or activities, as there is absolutely no shortage of either in the area.
