Lowdale Cottage - cosy cottage in rural location

Lowdale Farm Cottages are nestled between the North Yorkshire Moors and the historic seaside town of Whitby on the edge of the village of Sleights. We are delighted to offer this 4 bedded cottage in a beautiful, peaceful location with off street parking. Perfect for couples and families looking for a quiet restful holiday. Lowdale Cottage is a cosy 2 bed cottage sleeping 4. The bedrooms comprise a double and twin room. There is a family bathroom comprising a bath with integrated shower. Downstairs is the open plan kitchen, dining room and comfortable lounge area. The back door leads to a walled patio area with table and chairs leading to a lawned area and overlooking our field. The cottage has a modern well equipped kitchen with all the essentials for a self-catering holiday including a dishwasher. There is a washing machine in an external laundry room. We have reliable WiFi throughout the cottage and our smart TV box provides catch-up TV, Sky entertainment channels and access to Netflix. There is exclusive off street parking directly in front of the cottage for 2 cars. We also have a neighbouring 6 bedded cottage. We live in the farm house next door and are therefore around most of the time should you have any problems or questions. However the cottages are completely independent to the farm house. We prefer to give you your own space but are always happy to stop for a chat. Situated on the edge of Sleights village we benefit from the facilities in the village including the renowned Radfords Butchers, Bothams Bakery and Eskdale Fisheries Fish and Chip Restaurant and take-away. Perrys Plant Centre - a pretty garden centre and tea rooms is a short stroll away and situated overlooking the River Esk. The village also has a pub serving meals. The cottages are ideally situated with Whitby just 3.5 miles away. Many other points on the North East Yorkshire Coast are easily accessible, the busy holiday resort of Scarborough with all its attractions is 19 miles away. Sleights has a railway station (with steam trains running through during the summer months) and regular bus service giving an alternative to the parking issues in Whitby particularly at busy times. Goathland famous for the TV series ‘Heartbeat’ and Hogsmeade Station in Harry Potter is a short 10- 15 minute drive away. Grosmont – home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway engine sheds is approx a 15 minute drive away There are endless walking opportunities from the cottages including the Esk Valley Walk which runs past the farm and cottages. The cottage is a short walk away from Sleights station where trains will take you to Whitby or through the North part of the National Park towards Middlesbrough. You can change at Goathland and join the steam railway NYMR to Pickering. The local bus service is available a short walk away.
