Family Suite at the Mellow Moon Lodge

An upscale but down-to-earth, boutique property, we cater to the outdoor enthusiast. Bikes AND dogs are always welcome, we have an onsite bike shop, there’s a fire-pit for beers in the evening and free coffee in the morning. On top of all of that, we are a proud eco-lodge free from single-use plastic, harsh chemicals, or bad vibes. Bring your toys and come adventure with us, friends! We're a minimal mountain retreat in the beautiful San Luis Valley of Southern, Colorado. We provide all the modern comforts with a focus on sustainability and technology. However, please keep in mind that we are not a full-service chain hotel. Your suite has a separate bedroom, living area, kitchenette, and bathroom. You'll also have access to the lobby lounge area and both of our front patios with two fire pits. The lobby is staffed from 6-11am and again from 3-8pm. After-hours staff is available 24/7 via a phone call. We are conveniently situated in the center of the world-class Del Norte trail system, five minutes from the Rio Grande River, an hour from the Great Sand Dunes National Park, and only 30 minutes from Wolf Creek Ski Area. Basically your adult playground. Del Norte is pretty small so most things are within walking distance, otherwise, we have both townies and mountain bikes available for rent in our on-site bike shop, Sendero Bikes. General Policies Must be 21 or older to book a room. We will require a valid government or state-issued photo ID. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. During this time, we ask that you respect your neighbors and keep noise to a minimum. If we have to repeatedly ask you to quiet down, we will then ask you to leave the property and no refund will be given. Early Departure Early departures will be charged 50% of the following night's room rate. Pets DOGS ONLY We charge $25 per pet for up to four days. Maximum two pets per room. If you are traveling with a pet, please let us know ahead of time so that arrangements can be made. Pet must be fully trained and kept on a leash when in the hotel or on hotel property unless in the guest's room. Pet's must not be left unattended. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets on hotel property and in the neighborhood. Guests are responsible for all property damages and/or personal injuries resulting from their pet. Any unruly pets that cannot be controlled will be asked to leave. This includes incessant barking, damaging property and aggressive behavior. Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless the hotel, its owners and its operator from all liability and damage suffered as a result of guest's pet. The hotel reserves the right to charge guest's account to cover the cost of such damage. Additional Guests We do not allow additional guests in our rooms. If it is found that additional guests have stayed outside the confirmed reservation, $50 per guest will be charged to the card on file. Smoking All rooms and the entirety of the hotel property are completely non-smoking. A minimum $250 smoking fee will be applied to the credit card on file if signs of smoking are detected. Additionally, the hotel reserves the right to charge guest's account to cover the cost of items damaged. Parking Complimentary parking for one car. Room Charges and Damage When you book with us, our system keeps your card on file to cover any room charges and damage. Damage to furniture, linens and other property will be assessed and then billed to the customer at our replacement cost, which may include labor costs. Excessively soiled linens, carpets and furniture will be included as damages.
