The house is a brand new reconstruction, built and equipped to the highest standards with full-height double-glazed panoramic glass doors opening out onto a fabulous terrace. There is a private car parking area in front of the house. The interior is high-ceilinged, with wooden beams and a mezzanine half-floor providing the bedroom space. Walls are heavily insulated, and a heat pump drives underfloor heating, providing barefoot cosy living in winter and cooling in summer. We also have a somewhat larger, more rambling place next door with an office centre, two terraces and more land that may be more suitable if you want to work from home, have a pet or are considering a longer stay. Guests have exclusive use of all the space inside and outside the house within the land belonging to the house, including the terrace and private car park. We have a dedicated property manager, Marco, who is fluent in Italian and English to take care of guest check-in and out and to resolve any problems arising, as required. It is also possible to conduct a contactless handover, using a wall safe with key inside, if guests prefer. The neighbourhood is very quiet, in forested parkland, with only a few scattered houses around on a no-throughway narrow rustic road. Wildlife abounds, including wild boar and owls from time to time. The nearest village is Ceri, which can be reached by a steep walking path in 10-15 minutes. The property is on a dead-end road with few neighbours and no public transport. The nearest bus route is either 500m down a steep path or 2,3 km back down the road towards Pitelli and Arcola. A car or other personal transport is strongly advised. Private parking is available on site. Ideally placed off the beaten track between the historic marble mines of Carrara with fabulous walks in the Apuane mountain range on the one side, and the Golfo Dei Poeti with Lerici, San Terenzo, Portovenere and the Cinque Terre beyond on the other, both visible from our spectacular terrace.
