The Hot Tub Hideaway #1 is located at Hundred Acre Hideaway overlooking Cloudy Bay valley and the Southern Ocean. It is a romantic getaway featuring a wood fired hot tub on the deck for hours of blissful, relaxing hot soaking whilst taking in the amazing views. Inside, the open plan living centres around a cosy wood heater. The kitchen is well stocked and the living room has a generous supply of books, magazines, music, movies and games. Close to the vineyard/bar/grill, hotel and cruises. There are two guest cottages on the Hundred Acre Hideaway property both with outdoor hot tubs. This cottage #1 is a contemporary open plan living space with a deck and screens on two sides and the wood fired hot tub is sunken into the front deck looking out to the ocean. The other guest cottage is across the driveway and separated by gardens, lawns and privacy screening. The property is very quiet and set high on Mount Mangana with uninterrupted views across bushland and out to the Southern Ocean. My husband Phil and I live on the property in our own private cottage further up the driveway separated by a sculptural fence defining public and private areas. As guests at Hundred Acre Hideaway you have access to 90% of this amazing property. We will greet you with a warm Bruny Island welcome but give you total privacy and space to relax. Guest access You have the entire cottage to use privately. 90% of the property is available for your enjoyment, including fields, walking tracks and a 4 hole golf course. We also have two beautiful thoroughbred horses and a huge array of wallabies, potaroos, paddymelons, wedge tail eagles, goshawks, robins, wrens and honeyeaters. Other things to note It's a good idea to plan ahead for evening meals. During peak season (summer) the Vineyard (5 minutes down the road) is open for dinner on Saturday and Sunday nights. The Hotel Bruny (15 minutes down the road) is open every night for dinner. The rest of the year the only place open for dinner on the island is the Hotel Bruny and booking ahead is recommended. If you prefer you can pre-order a dinner hamper through us, we need 48 hours notice and we can provide you with 4 local pork sausages, mustard, freshly dug potatoes, freshly picked garden greens, a loaf of home baked bread and a bottle of Tasmanian Pinot Noir: $80 for two people. There are two general stores on the island where you can buy general meats and a small selection of fruit and vegetables. If you're arriving late we strongly recommend shopping in Hobart for meat and vegetables during your stay. During your stay on Bruny Island you can then explore the gourmet outlets such as the oyster bar, whiskey house, fudge shop, cheese co, berry farm, vineyard and hotel for island produce. A stay at the Hideaways is about being in the moment. There is no WiFi available and minimal Telstra reception at the property. Don’t let this phase you though, it’s the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the world and connect with the one around you. When you stay at the Hideaway, focus on connecting with your self, your partner and the nature that surrounds us.
