In the Heart of Viroqua Historic Guest Suite

Your guest suite is located on the second floor of our 1880's Italianate home located right off Main. There are 2 bedrooms. Both bedrooms have queen-size beds. Highspeed wifi access is available throughout the second-floor suite. No hidden fees - the base price is for 1 guest (cleaning fee is included)! Each additional guest is $15. For reservations of 1-2 people BR #1 will be available and for reservations of 3-4 people BR #1 & #2 will be available*. A twin air mattress in den for person #5. The upstairs Guest Suite includes 1-2 bedrooms, the upstairs den aka pajama lounge (that's a thing now!) where there is a smart TV, books and games for all ages, a private bathroom, and a full kitchen - stove, refrigerator, microwave etc... Everything you'll need for home cooking. PLEASE NOTE: We have upped our disinfecting procedure between guest's stays so not only will the suite be spic and span, it will also be thoroughly sanitized before you arrive. We ask that if you are sick or are experiencing any symptoms associated with the Covid-19 virus please do stay home and take care of yourself. We also ask all guests to wash or sanitize their hands before entering our home and to wear a mask when in the front hallway as that is a common area. Once inside the guest suite feel free to remove your protective gear as the suite has been aired out, plus we have a separate furnace for that space which has a MERV 16 Air Filters trapping down to .6 airborne particles. Early Check-in is NOT available during this time, sorry about that. We do have 5-day and monthly rates as well - ideal for business consultants. During the warmer months enjoy sitting out on the front porch or strolling through the garden - feel free to pull a weed or two! The Historic Gott House is a family home in a rural town (Urban) homestead. The house was built in the 1880s and is a Midwest Italianate which has had most of its charm ripped out of her over the years. Slowly we are attempting to restore that charm, develop an urban garden and orchard and convert a leaky old house into one that is energy efficient. The layout of the house is such that you will have little interaction with us - if you wish. We live on the first floor of the home and the Guest Suite is on the second-floor of the house (private entrance through front door). If you need us or would like to say hello in person please knock on the door at the end of the front hall - please wear masks. We live one block off of Main Street and are within walking or biking distance to everything in town. Down the street is Viroqua Food Cooperative, and in the other direction is the hospital. A short pleasant three block walk are the two Waldorf schools. Downtown Viroqua is home to several specialty and coffee shops and a couple of the finest farm to table restaurants around. Every Saturday morning (May through October) enjoy a stroll through our thriving farmer's market which you can see out your bedroom window! And if it's live music you're craving, Driftless Books and Music, the Temple Theatre or the Tangled Hickory Wine Bar probable has what you're looking for. Viroqua might be small but we are mighty! We are walking distance to EVERYwhere in town. During the spring, summer and fall parking is available on the street right in front of our house. Between November 15th-April 15th Viroqua enforces a no parking ordinance on city streets from 12am - 7am so we offer a parking space for one car in our driveway. If there will be more than one vehicle you will need to park the extra vehicles in the municipal parking lot one block over. There is a bike rack to the right of the driveway next to the garage where you can store your bikes. No bikes in house or on porch. * If you are a party of two who would like to sleep separately, you will need to reserve for three to open up the second room. Please note: The Guest Suite is located in our home that we share with one lovable German Shepherd, Lulu and an adorable kitten, Willow. Although Lulu and Willow live on the first floor with us, you might find a hair or two of either of them in the Guest Suite. The Suite is extremely clean, but if you are allergic and plan on spending a lot of time playing on the wool rugs, this might not be the place for you. If you are reserving for an extended stay (1 wk or more) there will be a $100 cleaning fee added to your reservation after booking. Although we love dogs we can not accommodate them at this time. *If you are making this reservation for a third party you Must provide name and contact information for that person(s) !!!*
