The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse - Single Dorm Bed

The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse is new style of Hostel designed for the comfort of guests, and introducing some luxury into the hostel world. Situated on the North West coast, the Cowshed is perfectly situated to enjoy spectacular sunsets over the bay, something which should definitely not be missed! This listing is for one single bunk bed in a 6-bed mixed gender dorm. Please note, towels are not included. These can be rented from reception for £1.00 each. The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse has five 6-bed dorms. Each bunk bed has a privacy curtain, shelf, individual light and power socket, as well as an incredibly comfortable mattress! The bathrooms are located just across the corridor from each dorm, each individual bathroom has power shower, toilet and sink, as well as underfloor heating. Guests have access to the communal areas 24hr/day. Gas in the kitchen is automatically switched on between 08:00-10:00 and 17:00 - 22:00. There is a free car park available to all guests. Our reception is open from 08:00 - 22:00 so if you have any questions or would like suggestions of things to see and do we are available; if you prefer to keep yourselves to yourselves that is also no problem! The village of Uig is not very big, but has everything you could need during your stay. There is an excellent general store for your grocery needs (Rankins), a petrol station, cafes, restaurants and a couple of bars. The Isle of Skye Brewing Company is also based in the village.. Local wildlife is in abundance with seals and otters often spotted in the bay and eagles and buzzards soaring overhead. During Spring and Summer there are daily boat trips from the Uig Pier to look for whales and puffins. There are some great local walks, shorter options include a stroll through the woods to the sea shore, a walk to the thundering Rha Falls, or exploring the fantastic landforms of the Fairy Glen and feel the magic of this quite unique miniature landscape of grassy cone shaped hills. Longer hikes take you up to the scenic wonders of the Trotternish Ridge. The Isle of Skye offers something for everyone; amazing hiking, glorious scenery, varied wildlife…. the list is endless. The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse makes the perfect base to make the most of everything the island has to offer. We are surrounded by beautiful scenery and just a short drive from some of the great ‘North End Highlights’, including the Quiraing, The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and, just a short walk away from the Cowshed, the magical Fairy Glen. The wonders of the North West of the island should also not be missed, with the Fairy Pools, Neist Point Lighthouse, Dunvegan Castle, Coral Beaches and the Talisker Distillery, to name just a few highlights which are easy to reach from Uig. The staff would be happy to recommend great day trips from here, ensuring that you don’t miss any of the or hidden away secrets. Free parking is available at The Cowshed. If you are arriving by bus, ask the driver if it's possible to drop you at the bottom of our driveway and it will save you a 30minute walk from Uig Pier. Bedding and bed linen are provided.
