We will provide you with a small free tour of the sanctuary at no additional charge. The property has two dams, it is well treed with large open spaces and has a beautiful view to Mount Macedon. Kangaroos, Possums and Echidna's also live here. You will be able to walk around the property, however please stay out of the animal paddocks without supervision, as there are large animals such as horses and camels in these paddocks. Please note this is a working farm environment, it sometimes can be messy and smell like animals. Animals can be noisy e.g. a rooster who crows in the morning, and a camel who growls when she is pleased to see you. Please remember to ensure the gates are always closed behind you. You will be able to walk around all the property, however please stay out of the properties paddocks without supervision, as there are large animals such as horses and camels in these paddocks. There are beautiful areas for picnics or just to sit and watch the animals. Your hostess Lynne McAlister delights in sharing her home and will go out of her way to ensure a memorable stay. Lynne has been a local in the region for 20 years and will endeavour to ensure you see all that the Macedon Ranges has to offer. Gisborne town centre is a 5 minute drive, with plenty of cafes, restaurants and supermarkets to choose from. We are 15 minutes from Mount Macedon, if you fancied hiking, riding or sight seeing. Macedon Ranges is renowned for its many wineries, golf courses, historic towns and streetscapes. Regional parks and private estates (some of which are open to the public from Spring to Autumn). We are your gateway to the festivals, monthly markets, the Memorial Cross at Mt Macedon, Sanctuary Lake, Camels Hump Lookout and Hanging Rock and its mysterious history, all ready for you to discover. We are also close to Pony Clubs and Trail Riding. There is a country train station at Gisborne. We are also 10 minutes drive from the metro train station at Sunbury. We are near the heart of Gisborne Village. Leave Melbourne on the Tullamarine Fwy, merge onto the Calder Fwy and then drive to the Gisborne exit, which is about 20 minutes drive. Dogs are permitted but must be well behaved and not chase livestock. We ask that dogs are kept on a lead, as we have a lot of birds and wildlife living here. Short term agistment for your horse can also be made available during your stay. Our home runs off water tanks so we ask that you are responsible with your water usage. Gumboots are good (we have spare), and it gets chilly at night in Winter so bring your warm woollies. The stars are splendid. An optional extra is for a professional photographer to capture this special time together with the animals. Duration varies, but around an hour. Includes photos supplied after professional editing with a download link. This extra experience is not only great for the photo album but also goes toward the feed and care of the animals at our sanctuary. We can also provide you a tour of the farm on arrival and introduce you to all our animal ambassadors. Vegan catering is available on request or please bring your own food. Please note that catering is an extra cost. Please see website for further details of the Sanctuary and what is (Email hidden by Airbnb)
