Sanctuary on Lake George, Waterfront Paradise!

Waterfront paradise in the Ocala National Forest, down a 4 mile dirt road in a small neighborhood. Located on Beautiful Lake George at the mouth of the St. Johns River, a romantic getaway for two or fun small family water vacation. Adjacent to boat ramp. Close to 5 Florida Springs. Popular area for boating, jetskiis, airboats, fishing. Birdwatching, kayaking, canoeing, relaxing or sightseeing, hiking and Amazing sunsets! Small Mother-In-Law suite, located on Lake George, the second largest lake in Florida and is surrounded by trees and water. We are in a small neighborhood but when you look out across the lake, there is not another house in sight. The sunsets are amazing. The quiet is (usually) unbelievable. The stars at night are brilliant. It is a beautiful, relaxing slice of paradise and the perfect retreat. Located within minutes of our amazing freshwater springs, kayaking, hiking, biking, swimming and bird watching. One queen bedroom and a loft above the living/dining room with 2 bunk beds for the kids and a large window overlooking the lake. One bathroom off the master bedroom and a kitchen linking the 2 rooms. Outside deck with table for 4, gas grill, and small swimming pool. We are delighted to share all outdoor spaces with our guests. This includes the front and side yard, pool, deck and outdoor grill. We have a dock where you can launch a canoe, kayak or boat (water depth permitting) We have 2 kayaks and one canoe available for your use. Will will make every effort to greet you upon check-in. If we are not available, the door will be unlocked or the key will be in the lock box. We are generally on the property and availability as needed. The Ocala National Forest is a sanctuary from the noise and busyness of life. We live at the end of a 4 mile dirt road in a small neighborhood of about 10 houses. The neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves but friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. Several of them are air boaters so there will be airboat noise from time to time. There is usually a rooster crowing to grace our morning but the quiet is peaceful, the views are beautiful. We have a dock where you can put in to kayak or canoe and there is a boat launch adjacent to the property and is a popular destination for airboaters which can be quite loud but they usually pass quickly.. The back yard is Lake George! There is no public transportation. We are accessible by boat, canoe or kayak or float plane. There is parking for 2 vehicles. We are less than an hour from numerous hiking and bike no trails, an hour and 20 minutes from Disney World, 1 hr. 21 minutes to Universal, 1 1/2 hrs. To SeaWorld, 1 hr. 12 minutes to Sanford Orlando Airport, 1 hr. 26 minutes to Orlando International Airport, 1 hour to The World’s Most Famous Beach. We are far from the hustle and bustle of the city but within easy day trips of pretty much anything you want to do. Our unique fresh water springs and beautiful nature are the attractions here! Boating is big here! Airboats and Jet skis are often seen running to the nearby springs. The speedway in Barberville provides exciting dirt track racing. There are frequent fishing tournaments going one as well as just good fishing all around. There will be airboats launching from the boat ramp and driving by but they usually pass quickly. Just give them a friendly wave. There are also several excellent locally owned restaurants nearby and an Italian Pizza place that delivers. Quaint, interesting, unique small towns like Mt. Dora, DeLand (Home to Stetson University), Ocala (Home to Slver Springs and the famous glass bottom boats) and Eustis are nearby for shopping and browsing. Wildlife abounds. Birds are everywhere.
