Rural family farmhouse with pool & hot tub
Perfect family getaway in a beautiful garden besieged with apple trees overlooking grazing cows and hills. The house has been modernised and offers super-comfortable accommodation for a large family or two smaller families. There’s a brand new swimming pool (available Jun-Sept 2022) and a hot tub. This special place is blessed with a host of country walks and great pubs on your doorstep, but with a brand new kitchen inside or a pizza oven or barbecue outside you may prefer to cook at home. The kitchen is truly the heart of this home offering a large space that's big enough to eat in, hang out in and cook in without feeling cramped. It's equipped with everything you'll need cook meals for any large family. There's a range-style cooker, larder fridge and freezer. There's a peninsula with 5 bar stools and a separate kitchen table for meals that will comfortably seat 6 people. The hallway leads to two separate sitting rooms, one with a tv. There's a large dining room with an open fire that can comfortably seat 10 people. The dining room also contains a 'secret' back staircase up to the first floor. Upstairs the master bedroom has a super-king size bed, wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The Jack-and-Jill bathroom means that it's an en-suite for the master bedroom as well as a family bathroom. The second bedroom has a small double bed and an en-suite shower room. Bedroom 3 has a small double bed and Bedroom 4 has a single bed. Bedroom 5 is on the ground floor and has a king-size bed and has doors that open out to the patio and pizza oven. The house also has one bedroom flat/annexe which can be accessed via the playroom on the mezzanine level. This is the sixth bedroom and has a king size bed, separate shower room and a separate kitchen. The flat can either be sealed off so that it's self-contained or the dividing doors kept open. Outside there is an acre of garden with paths and passages to explore that lead to secret nooks and wide open spaces that are perfect for playing games. Children will spend hours playing outside; there's a little stream at one end with a rope swing, where the ducks spend most of their time, and a large trampoline the other. The chicken and ducks will hopefully lay you some eggs for your breakfast. We reared the ducks so they are very friendly and will eat frozen peas from your hand. There's a large patio area perfect for eating outside which overlooks the orchard and the fields beyond. You can be your own piazzolo and make your own home-made pizza in the pizza oven and then settle around a fire-pit with a glass of wine well into the night. And as the sun goes down, you can switch on the fairy lights and move into the hot tub. JAN 2022 UPDATE: Work is starting on our pool build in March 2022 and should be up and running by end of May. Pool house and landscaping however will not be finished until later in the year. COVID UPDATE: As part of the six bedrooms, the property has a self-contained flat attached to the house with separate shower-room and kitchen. The flat has a separate exterior entrance or can be accessed from the main house. This layout, subject to rules at the time, could allow two households to safely social distance, and yet enjoy the outside space. We rent out the house when we go away on holiday but as-long as we have reception we’ll be sure to keep in touch for any questions you may have during your stay.
