Nestled in beautiful countryside with spectacular views lies a small 17th century farmhouse with a converted barn. The barn provides first class accommodation comprising: a large sitting room downstairs with a bedroom on a mezzanine floor above, accessed by a staircase with glass balustrade. Off the sitting room is a wet room and a private entrance is accessed by french doors, leading to a small outside balcony . No breakfast available at present. Note there is no kitchen/cooking facilities. We have just completed improvements on this beautifully decorated double height room with a mezzanine floor providing sitting room below and bedroom above, accessed by a beautiful staircase with glass balustrade. It’s centrally heated, with its delightful outlook on the neighbouring countryside. Although completely modern, original exposed oak timbers add character to this light and airy space. The family sized wetroom offers a deluxe shower, sink and wc. With private access via a wide ramp onto a small terrace with table and chairs, French doors lead into the space. You are afforded spectacular views of open countryside. The farmstead sits on a half acre plot with generous gardens and ample parking, the property is gated and has a very low key security system in place. leading straight from the property is a public footpath which is perfect to take in the evening air or a lovely walk, or just to take in the magnificent views. Inside you have a stereo and big CD collection, TV, with full sky package including sky movies, box sets, and Netflix, books, and games. Maps and local information available. Please note although there are tea making facilities in the room there is no kitchen. Breakfast is served in the main house. However currently we do not provide breakfast because of covid and we have reflected this in the pricing. Please note there are no cooking facilities in the barn. Please check out our other listing if you would like full self catering facilities. It’s called Ty Mochyn. The gardens are fully accessible, you are welcome to enjoy them. We have created a fully equipped art studio for guests to enjoy, available by negotiation. We have broadband Wi-Fi available for you; the signal strength is variable as we are in a rural location. We can offer car port storage for motorbikes. Andrea and Haydee will offer you every assistance to enjoy your stay. If you wish to have total privacy this will be respected. On the other hand, if you are social animals we are very happy to oblige. The area is a magnet for walkers and cyclists, with Offa's Dyke, the Severn Way, the Kerry Ridgeway and Glyndwr's Way nearby. Powis Castle, and Dolforwyn Castle are amongst the local historic sights, with the pretty town of Montgomery, and castle is also a nearby tourist attraction. Nearby Gregynog Hall has gorgeous landscaped grounds and hosts an annual music festival. With the Shropshire border just 4 miles away, the Long Mynd, Bishops Castle, medieval Ludlow and much more are within reach. Newtown, just 1.5 miles away offers a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes as well as a theatre, cinema and art gallery. Newtown rail station is 1 mile away and the town is well connected by bus routes. Taxis are readily available. We have two cats and two dogs, all sociable and guest friendly.
